Country Music’s Keith Anderson headlines Gold Dust Gala

Ventura, California - Country and Western singing star and song-writer Keith Anderson, whose 2008 hit “I Still Miss You” reached No. 2 in the Billboard country charts, will headline Community Memorial Healthcare Foundation’s 19th annual Gold Dust Gala, a benefit event on Saturday, April 18, at Ventura’s Seaside Park.

Tickets and sponsorship packages can be purchased online at www.golddustgala.org, or by calling the Foundation office at 805/667-2881.

Proceeds from the Gold Dust Gala are used for breast cancer detection and treatment, cervical cancer screening and vaccination, and needed diagnostic equipment that benefits women in our community who lack access to life-saving exams. In 2008, over 80 women who qualified for this program were cared for by Community Memorial Health System.

The Gold Dust Gala begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails, a silent auction and western line dancing. A barbecue dinner and dancing will follow at 6:45 p.m., with Keith Anderson taking the stage at 8:30 p.m.

The silent auction will feature dinners at fine restaurants, theater tickets, gems, western clothes, boots and autographed items from top country artists.

A native of Miami, Oklahoma, Anderson is a rising star in country music with three Top 10 singles, but he made his first mark in Nashville as a songwriter. Anderson was a co-writer of "Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?),” a duet by country superstars Garth Brooks and George Jones, released in late 2001.
In 2005, Anderson signed his first record deal, and his debut album, Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll, produced four chart singles: "Pickin' Wildflowers," "XXL,” "Every Time I Hear Your Name" and "Podunk.”
Anderson’s second album, C’mon!, was released in August 2008. The first single from the album, “I Still Miss You,” became his first Top 5 country hit. Another song from the album, "Somebody Needs A Hug" peaked at No. 46 on the country music charts, and Anderson’s next single, "She Could've Been Mine" was released in January.
In addition to his own material, Anderson co-wrote Big & Rich’s “Lost in This Moment,” a No. 1 country hit in 2007, and has also written songs for country star Gretchen Wilson.
