On October 26, Bertha Romero Tapia, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Bertha was born August 23rd in Nayarit, Mexico to Dolores Villela and Felipe Romero and had been a resident for more than 45 years. She spent her live being a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a great friend. Bertha loved to play Bingo and loteria with her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Felipe Tapia and daughter, Rose Marie Mendez; sisters, Graciela and Sylvia Romero; grandson, Ismael Uriostegui.
She is survived by her son, Frank Tapia (wife Lisa); daughter, Nancy Tapia, granddaughters; Bianca, Susy, Patty, Krystle , Desiree, and Gissel; grandsons, Ramiro, Frankie, Erik, and Anthony; great-grandsons, Ricardo and Julian; sisters, Rosa Romero and Eva Ortiz; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends specially by long time friend Socorro Manzano Martinez and family.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 9pm with a Prayer Service at 7pm at Faith Community Church, 461 Central Avenue in Fillmore on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 9:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church,
1048 W. Ventura St., Fillmore. Interment will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery, 1698 S. Sespe St., Fillmore.
