Beverly Jeanne Mosbarger died at home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 21, 2009, after a brief battle with cancer. Beverly was born on December 27, 1924, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. As a child she moved with her family to Whittier, California and attended schools there, graduating from Whittier High School in 1942. After receiving an A.A. degree from Fullerton Junior College, She went to work as a secretary for the Union Oil Company in Santa Fe Springs. A few years later she accepted a transfer to the company office in Santa Paula. In 1954, she married Don Mosbarger. They made their home in Fillmore and were married for fifty-five years.
Beverly worked for a number of years as an administrative assistant at William L. Morris Chevrolet in Fillmore and later for ten years as the secretary to the principal at Fillmore Junior High School. She was very involved at the Faith Community Church in Fillmore where she severed faithfully on the missions Committee, in leadership of the Mariners Fellowship Group, and in numerous other church ministries. Beverly was also involved in the community and volunteered at Fillmore Convalescent Center. She enjoyed spending time with her circle of friends in Fillmore and Whittier. After retirement, she and Don traveled often; Jazz Festivals were a favorite destination. A priority for Beverly was gathering family together especially at holidays.
Beverly was a wonderful wife and mother who is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Joy Mosbarger and Jill Irwin; and sister, Jackie Cauffman. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and their families. Beverly was preceded in death by her younger brother, Bob Clarkson
A graveside service will be held at Bardsdale Cemetery on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
