Carolyn Sue Kitchens, 80 passed away in Klamath Falls, Ore. on January 29, 2023. She was born on March 24, 1942 in Fillmore, Calif. Upon graduating from F.U.H.S. in 1960 she married her husband Don. While living in Fillmore she worked as a seamstress, a real estate agent, and managed “Don’s Floor Covering”, the family business,
In 1978 the family moved to Bishop, CA where they built their dream house in the mountain community of Aspendell. While in Bishop she worked as an Emergency Room Tech; operated a bed and breakfast; ran a fishing resort for a couple seasons; and volunteered working with the school ski program at Mammoth Mountain.
In 2001 Sue and Don retired and moved to Klamath Falls, OR to be closer to their grandchildren. Sue spent her retirement years sewing, knitting, gardening, golfing, and canning jams from their many fruit trees.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Don Kitchens; daughter, Karri (Raul) Mirande, son, Kelly (Laurie) Kitchens; grandsons, Maxwell, Mitchell and Ryan, granddaughters, Kate and Mady; sister, Sandy (Alan) Horn, brother, Fred (Joanne Vest) Chisholm; numerous nieces and nephews and many other friends and family. Private services will be held.
