Baccalaureate Mass

A baccalaureate Mass was held at Saint Francis of Assisi on Saturday, June 6th, a celebration that honored the graduating senior class from Fillmore High School. The Baccalaureate ceremony is a service of worship in celebration of and thanksgiving for lives dedicated to learning and wisdom. It is believed to have originated at the University of Oxford in 1432 when each bachelor was required to deliver a sermon in Latin as part of his academic requirements. Inset, dinner was served afterwards. |
