Jingle bells, jingle bells, oh what fun it is to ring-a-ling a Christmas song tonight. It's not exaggeration in the least that a good time was had by all. Three rounds of “ring and sing” started off the evening by the audience bell-ringing Silent Night, Away in the Manager and Joy to the World. Each table had their compliment of bells each of which had a certain 'tone' with which to ring at the appropriate time. Members of the choir were at tables to help. What a hoot... er... ding-a-ling. Most were 'on time' with the music but there was a clang or two a tad out of time. Mattered not a twit considering the fun enjoyed. The Bell Choir consisted of Director Marcia Heerema-Hoffman and Bell Choir members Delia Skeels, Rev. Bethany Carpenter, Joanna Michel, Anna Walls, Mimi Burns, Yetta Hurd, Alicia Hortiales, Edie Swetman, Michael Hoffman, Griffin Walls, Carmen J. Hortiales, Martina McRae and Rev. Ed McRae. Following the concert another round of 'ring and sing' by the audience playing Jingle Bells. “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” concluded the evening's entertaining experience. The choir practices Thursdays at 3:30 for those interested in ringing or flinging a bell to make merry music. The church is located at 1498 Bardsdale Avenue, Fillmore. 524-2070 |
