Let's pray for our Caregivers today!! For all they do, and all they go thru. If you've a Caregiver in your family, perhaps today, you could give them a call...or drop by and bring them something to brighten their day- Offer to give them a break, run an errand, or just listen. Unless you've been a caregiver, you just dont know the burden they carry, or the guilt they feel when they become overwhelmed and distraught. |

From the Desk of: Tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in the federal court serving Northern Florida, the first of three defendants charged with illegally praying (or merely encouraging prayer) over a meal will face Judge Casey Rodgers. Michelle Winkler, a Santa Rosa County clerical assistant asked her husband to bless a meal at a privately sponsored "Employee of the Year" banquet held at a rented, off-campus facility well after school hours. But the prying eyes of the ACLU took note, and Michelle now faces stiff fines and censure! Mrs. Winkler is charged with civil contempt, but her school's principal, Frank Lay, and its athletic director, Robert Freeman, face CRIMINAL charges before the same judge on September 17. All three defendants are subject to losing their jobs because of this. CONTINUED » |

Gov. Schwarzenegger is being pressured more from all sides to sign Senate Bill 572
SB 572 would pressure every California public school to have an official Harvey Milk Day promoting the homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual agenda to children as young as kindergarten. This legislation is written so broadly that it could allow gay-pride parades on campus, cross-dressing, and homosexual marriage dramas, etc. It's all going to come down to how much pressure California's governor feels. Last year the Democrat-controlled Legislature passed Harvey Milk Gay Day, but Schwarzenegger vetoed it. This year, Schwarzenegger is being lobbied more heavily by homosexual activists. Sean Penn, who played Harvey Milk on the big screen, and Milk's homosexual activist nephew, have both lobbied Schwarzenegger to ask him to sign SB 572. This year there are four more Democrats in the Assembly voting for Harvey Milk Gay Day. And for the first time Republican Senator Abel Maldonado is supporting this anti-traditional family value bill. If you are against this. Call Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger at 916-445-2841. Listen to the recorded message and press in the following order: |

Call for Release of Iranian Bahá’Ăs Ahead of Trial
Iranian-American journalist Roxana Saberi and the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) have called for the release of seven Baha’i leaders who may face trial tomorrow, July 11, 2009, in Tehran. Saberi was imprisoned in Evin, where the seven Baha’is are currently being held, for nearly four months before she was released as a result of significant international pressure. According to its statement, the Commission is appealing to the Iranian government to take similar action and release the Baha’is: “The charges against these imprisoned Baha’is are baseless and a pretext for the persecution and harassment of a disfavored religious minority. They should be released immediately,” said USCIRF Chair Leonard Leo. “USCIRF urges the President and other leaders in the international community to speak out and call for the release of the seven Baha’i leaders, as the President did for Miss Saberi. These prisoners are in jail solely because of their religious identity, and have not been afforded any due process or direct access to legal representation.” CONTINUED » |

We just learned that our Will, Karen and Bill's son, was down at the river and dove into a sandbar, so far we know he's broken a vertebrae in his neck, he has full movement in his arms legs. He's at Gritman Memorial waiting to see if a surgeon is available at St. Josephs in Lewiston, if not they'll transport him to Spokane for surgery. Our hearts are heavy, but we trust in the Lord to see him through. |

From Fr. John Corapi
I have fond memories of the 4th of July going back to when I was probably only four or five years old. We remember the parades, the picnics or barbecues, and the happy gathering of families. During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the American colonies from Great Britain actually took place on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve the resolution of independence previously put forth by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia. After debate and revision Congress approved the Declaration of Independence on July 4th. Of note is the letter John Adams, one of only two Founding Fathers who went on to become president, wrote to his wife Abigail: "…This day ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of the continent to the other, from this time forward forever more." President Barack Obama said in Turkey : "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values." I found this very interesting. Do you know the Preamble for your state? . . Alabama 1901, Preamble |
