Time Warner Cable will offer 40 One-Cent Movies On Demand to help customer save this Valentine’s Day As part of an effort to show customers just how much they care, and to offer a cost-saving alternative for Valentine’s Day, Time Warner Cable will offer customers the “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal” in honor of Valentine’s Day Weekend. For Valentine’s Day Weekend, beginning 12:01 AM, Saturday, February 14th through Sunday, February 15th 11:59 PM, Time Warner Cable will offer all digital cable subscribers a special catalog of 40 current and classic box-office romance, action, drama, thriller, comedy, children and family hit movies, exclusively On Demand, for one cent each. The special “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal,” catalog will feature titles such as romance piece Love Actually, starring Huge Grant and Keira Knightley, action-thriller Wanted, featuring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy, family and kid-friendly tale Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, critically-acclaimed comedy Burn After Reading, featuring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, a timeless love story featuring Richard Gere and Diane Lane, a record-setting blockbuster film featuring Heath Ledger in his second to last performance, and a host of others. “The ‘1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal’ is a great cost-saving option for consumes who are looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a very cost-effective manner, said Time Warner Cable West Region Executive Vice President Stephen Pagano. “Instead going out and spending excessive amounts of money, our customers can dine in, snuggle with that special someone and watch a one cent movie right in the comfort of their own home, and save a ton of money in the process.” According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), last year, 61% of consumers celebrated Valentine’s Day, and of those consumers, 48% of them celebrated the day by enjoying an evening out, which included a variation of dinner, movies, flowers and candy. In addition, the NRF statistics also reported that last year, the average consumer spent nearly $123 dollars, with men spending close to $163 and women spending roughly $83. With the special Time Warner Cable “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal,” which will be available throughout the entire Valentine’s Day Weekend, customers will be able to purchase any and every movie from the 40-movie catalog, any number of times, all for the price of one cent each. Based on the average spending rates by consumers on Valentine’s Day, the “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal” can save customers at least 22% in total Valentine’s Day expenses.
