CMHS Seminar on May 2 to Focus on Radiation Therapy

Ojai, CA. - The public is invited to learn more about the latest advances in cancer radiation therapy at a free seminar Community Memorial Health System is holding in Ojai on Saturday, May 2.

Thomas Fogel, M.D., a local radiation oncologist, will lead the seminar that will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Soule Park banquet room at 1033 East Ojai Ave.

In addition to providing information on modern advances in radiation therapy, Dr. Fogel will offer his straightforward opinions on the benefits and risks of the newest procedures. They include:
 Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT);
 Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT);
 3-Dimensional Treatment Planning;
 Stereotactic Radiosurgery (Gamma Knife).

Dr. Fogel practices at Cabrillo Radiation Oncology Center and is a member of the Coastal Radiation Oncology Medical Group. He is on staff at Community Memorial Hospital and Ojai Valley Community Hospital.

Dr. Fogel received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York, and did his post-graduate work in oncology at the Yale University School, where he was also appointed chief resident and instructor. Dr. Fogel also did post-graduate work in internal medicine at Brown University. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as the American College of Radiology and a fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology.
