Nine graduates of Fillmore High who are continuing their education at colleges and universities throughout California will each receive $1000 Continuation grants from the Alumni Scholarship Foundation for the 2012-2013 school year. The recipients are:

Sean Chandler, '11 who is attending U. C. San Diego, majoring in History, also is interested in flying, and through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, he hopes to be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force upon graduating from college.

Karlie Chessani '09 is in her last year at U. C. Berkeley where she has majored in Ethnic Studies with a minor in Education. She is working as a tutor to teach K-8 students how to read and improve their reading skills.

Amy De La Piedra '93 continues to pursue her dream of becoming a registered nurse. She is attending Moorpark College in their Registered Nursing program.

Kelsey MacDonald '10 is enrolled at San Diego State in their Nursing Program, but will attend the University of Granada in Spain for the fall semester of 2012 and return to San Diego State in the spring of 2013.

Moneh Magdaleno '10 is beginning her third year atn Vanguard University, majoring in Psychology. She is very active in school events and works with Kidworks as a volunteer to help the youth of the Santa Ana community.

Brianna Rojo '08 is in her last year at San Francisco State where her major is Biology with an emphasis on Physiology, and she will be applying to medical schools across the U. S. She volunteers weekly at UCSF Benioff Children"s Hospital and volunteers as a Peer Educator Advocating Campus Health (PEACH).

Rebecca Vassaur '10 is majoring in Anthropology at U.C.L.A., but she plans on post grad. work to prepare for medical school.

Jillian Wilber '09 is beginning her final year at Westmont College and will pursue the work for her teaching credential. Following graduation she will seek a position as a high school teacher and also hopes to coach basketball.

Jacob Zellmer '09 is attending Azusa Pacific University and is majoring ins Biblical Studies. Last year, Jacob spent one semester at Oxford University in England. He hopes to return to Oxford for graduate work upon his graduation from Azusa Pacific, or possibly Duke University.
