Tierra Rejada Valley: SOAR announces their 5th Annual SOAR 5K “Run Through the Orchards” on Sunday, October 11th behind Underwood Farms on Sunset Road in the Tierra Rejada Valley. The race, beginning at 8:30am, will be run on a certified, all-dirt course through walnut, avocado and orange groves in the Tierra Rejada Valley greenbelt situated between the East County cities of Ventura County. Medals and prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runners in eight different age categories.

The event will also feature a 3K fun walk and an after-race drawing for all participants. The race is a fund-raising event for Save Open-space and Agricultural Resources (SOAR), the non-profit organization working to protect the agricultural lands and greenbelts between the cities in Ventura County. Pre-registration is available online at www.active.com through midnight on Friday, October 9, and is $20 for adults and $8 for kids age 12 and under. Participants can also register on the day of the race at $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under.
