CAMARILLO, CA – September 18, 2009 - Where can you learn a new chocolate recipe, master a mean manicotti,
and experience cooking in an entirely new way? At the Taste of Home Cooking School & Showcase Expo, of
course! This showcase expo and cooking demonstration is a culinary event like no other in Ventura County.
The Taste of Home Cooking School & Showcase Expo is guaranteed to be an engaging, informative, and fun
event. On Wednesday, November 4 the doors at the Oxnard Performing Arts & Convention Center open at 2:00
p.m. for a free Showcase Expo open to the public. Fifty different vendors will be showcasing their products and
services, providing complimentary food samples. Taste of Home national sponsor, Gallo Family Vineyards will
provide wine tasting for adults 21 andolder. The all new Buick La Crosse will be on display along with cars from
Volvo of Calabasas. Other featured sponsors include The Sleep Shoppe, Do It Best and Green Thumb Nursery.
Throughout the expo, vendors will be ready to help jump start your holiday shopping with an array of jewelry,
makeup, cooking products, vintage handbags and more available for purchase.
At 6:00 p.m. ticketed attendees will move to the theater to watch a professionally trained Taste of Home Culinary
Specialist demonstrate a variety of easy-to-prepare recipes, food tips, and kitchen techniques. This season’s “Fall Comfort Classics” includes a step-by-step demonstration on how to create delicious dishes like “Flank Steak Santa Fe,” “Smoked Salmon & Chives Cheesecake” and a new favorite for the kids, “Snickerdoodle Chex Mix.”
Foodies will follow along with the featured recipes in their own copy of the Taste of Home Cooking School Brand
Name Cookbook. Every ticketed attendee will receive a complimentary copy of this 68-page special issue in their
free gift bag filled with free products, valuable coupons from participating sponsors as well as a year subscription to Taste of Home Magazine.
Bo Jaxson from the B95.1 morning radio show “Bo and Friends” will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. He’ll
keep the laughs and excitement going as he helps prepare one of the dishes as a Taste of Home Guest Chef.
Throughout the show, Bo will draw winners from the audience for valuable door prizes including the dishes
prepared on stage that night.
