If you have ever tried to point out to friends or coworkers the violent texts and teachings of Islam that jihadists use to justify violence and supremacism, you may have experienced its effects yourself: charges of “racism,” “bigotry,” and “hatred”; invocations of the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Book of Joshua; and a reminder that the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that Muslims “together with us…adore the one, merciful God” (841).
