In Loving Memory of Eloy Alfaro Melgoza
Eloy Alfaro Melgoza, a man of humor, love, and a passion for life, passed away peacefully, joining his father, Juan Alfaro, in heaven. Born in the quaint town of Urepetiro, Michoacán de Ocampo, Mexico, with his roots in Telazazalca and his journey to Fillmore, CA. There, alongside his siblings Juana, Agustine, Armando, Monica, and Herman, he grew into an unforgettable, vibrant soul we all cherished. Always jokingly referring himself as the black sheep of the family
Eloy carried humor like a torch. His wit and banter—especially with his 95-year-old mother, Benedicta (Benny) Alfaro—echoed a sitcom-worthy dynamic. Together, their love-hate comedy lit up their home, a stage of love, laughter, and light-hearted squabbles that deepened their bond.
He loved life, and perhaps no sound was sweeter to him than music. From tunes that captured his soul to belting songs over a cold beer, Eloy’s profound love for music and melody was infectious.
Eloy’s greatest hits will always be his children: Eloy Jr. of Camarillo, CA, Delma of Bakersfield, CA, and Cristian Alfaro of Portland, Oregon. They carry his love for life and humor in their hearts, a legacy sung softly in every laugh, every memory.
Though he’s joined his father in the great unknown, his light continues to shine brightly in those he leaves behind.
“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” Eloy made a world of love, laughter, and music. His song may have ended, but his melody lingers on, forever etched in the hearts of those who had the joy of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Eloy.
Laughing, singing, and sharing a cold one with those who went before you.
