In loving memory of Ernest Allen Stines
It is with deep and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ernest Allen Stines, on November 5, 2024, in consequence of his year long bout with pancreatic cancer. He passed at home with family close at hand. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marian, father, Leslie, and brother, Everett.
Ernie was born to Leslie and Marion Stines on June 22, 1966, in Santa Paula, California. At a very young age, Ernie enjoyed helping his father and brothers with the family business, Stines Construction. Once he was old enough, he showed interest in operating heavy machinery and never looked back. He met the love of his life Cindy in grade school, and at Santa Paula High School, fell in love, became high school sweethearts, and were married November 11, 1988. Ernie was a heavy equipment operator and foreman for over 2 decades but remained very attentive, supportive, and present with his family and their extracurricular activities. Ernie was a man of all trades, from welding projects to donating his weekends to help 4H & FFA members, he was a kind-hearted man always willing to lend a hand to whoever needed it. Whether he was teaching the kids to fish on Lake Havasu or spending Thanksgiving dirt bike riding in Mojave, Ernie loved nothing more than spending quality time with those he loved most. He had the most infectious laugh, a wicked sense of humor, and his smile could light up an entire room.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife Cindy of Fillmore, brothers Eugene (wife Liz) of Clarkston, WA, Dean (wife Jacklyn) of Oxnard, David (wife Diane) of Santa Paula, and Daniel (wife Joyce) of Fillmore, daughters Chelsea (husband Matthew) of Acton, CA, Candace (fiancé James) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Chloe (husband Marcus) of Athol, ID, grandchildren Deegan, Gryffin, Leon, and Lilith, many nieces and nephews, and a host of long-time devoted friends.
