Felix Sanchez Medina (Chapo) a lifelong Fillmore resident has passed and is now in the hands of the Lord. He was in the comfort of his home with his family on February 2nd just before noon. He was born to the parents of Simon and Jennie Medina in Fillmore on July 10th 1937. He attend schools in Fillmore and at the age of 17 with the blessing of his parents joined the United States Army in 1956, he served 3years active duty. In July of 1958 he married Jennie Ponce Medina, they were married 60 years. After serving his country he worked for General Motors in Van Nuys for 2 years, and then joined The Labors Union Local 585 in March of 1961. He worked as a laborer / foreman throughout Ventura County and retired after 25 years in 1986, he was a 57 year member. Felix and Jennie enjoyed cruising the “backroads” of California. He enjoyed working with his hands, and was always available to lend a hand. He loved live Mexican music, barbeques and especially family gatherings. He is preceded in death by his parents Simon and Jennie Medina, his Brother Gilbert Medina, Sister Pauline Medina and Grandson Michael Medina. He survived by his Wife Jennie Medina, Son Raul Medina, Daughter Nora Casarez (Steve) Son Danny Medina (Nadine) 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
