PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: February 11, 1945 - Yalta Agreement signed by President Franklin
Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Soviet leader Josef Stalin during World War II.
LUNCH: Sandwich day, potato chips, fresh fruit
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS VOLLEYBALL MEETING - For those boys interested in participating on the Boys Volleyball
Team there will be a MANDATORY MEETING on TODAY in the gym.
2. FOOTBALL PLAYERS - If you ordered Football DVD’s they are available for pick-up in the Student
Store.
3. CONGRATULATIONS to the VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM that clinched their CIF Playoff
Spot. First playoff game will be Wednesday, February 16th. Location TBD.
4. CONGRATULATIONS to the VARSITY BOYS SOCCER TEAM that clinched their CIF Playoff Spot.
First playoff game will be Wednesday, February 16th. Location TBD.
5. CONGRATULATIONS to the JV BOYS SOCCER TEAM - TRI-VALLEY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.
6. SPRING ATHLETES - Practices begin Monday……Make sure you get your Athletic Clearances to Lynn in the Student Store.

CLUBS:
1. Sports Hall Of Fame – meeting Friday at lunch in Mr. Dann’s Rm. #36 to discuss fundraising ideas. New members welcome!
2. There will be a CSF meeting on Wednesday, 2/16 during traditional lunch. Room #60 – OK to bring your lunch up to the room.
SENIORS:
1. A representative from the Fillmore Alumni will be in the College and Career Center at
12:10 on Tuesday, Feb 15th to discuss the Fillmore Alumni Scholarship with students.

• FILLMORE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION – applications are in the College and Career Center. They are to be returned to the alumni office by
3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 25th.
• Soroptimist International of Fillmore, Imogene Vest Scholarship - students who have a 3.0 GPA or higher, able to demonstrate you are
actively working to make your community a better place, and attending a higher education institution in the fall of 2011 immediately following
graduation. Deadline is March 22nd. See Mrs. Larin for an application.
• CSUCI - President’s Scholars Program Scholarship. http://www.csuci.edu/financialaid/scholarships.htm. Deadline is Feb 11th.
• Monsanto Commitment to Agriculture - http://www.monsanto.com/ourcommitments/Pages/agriculture-scholarships.as.... Deadline is Feb 15th.

JUNIORS:
1. Class meeting TODAY during lunch at 12:45 in Rm. 4 to discuss prom updates and powder puff football.
STUDENTS:
1. Saturday School will be held this Saturday 2/12/2011.
2. This is a friendly library reminder about fines for AR books: There will be no fine if books are returned under 30 days past due. There will
be a $2 charge for books returned 30-59 days overdue, a $4 charge if returned 60-89 days overdue and a $6 charge for returning a book 90
or more days overdue.
3. SADIE HAWKINS DANCE - March 5th. Ladies, get ready and ask your date! This year’s theme is Mardi Gras, so get your beads ready!
4. Pennies for Patients fundraising drive – Bring your pennies (or any coins) to your 3rd period classroom. The class that raises the most
money will receive a BBQ lunch put on by the Sheriff and Fire departments
5. GIRLS: Applications are available for the Miss Fillmore/ Miss Teen Fillmore Pageant. Applications are available in the Student Store. The
Mother/Daughter Tea is scheduled for Wednesday, February 23rd 6:30PM at the Memorial Building. The first practice begins Wednesday,
March 2nd.
6. This years’ Ventura County Fair Poster contest theme is “The Bounty of the County”. Entries must be original 2-D works of art on 14” x
17” paper. There is a $10 entry fee. All valid entries will receive a Ventura County Fair participation ribbon and 2 admission tickets to the
2011 VC fair. Awards- 1st place $500, 2nd place $250 3rd place $100. The deadline is Thursday March 31st. For an entry form or more
information come by room 34 (Art room)
7. Students – PLEASE PARK IN THE PARKING LOT. The spots in the front of the school are for staff and visitors. Thank you.

1. The Sophomore class is having a portrait fundraiser in cooperation with KSSP on Feb. 26th. If you are interested in having a family portrait
taken, pick up a flyer in the Student Store or any Sophomore class officer. This is a great opportunity for a family portrait!
