PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: February 28, 1849 - The steamship California landed in San Francisco, bringing the first East Coasters to the Gold
Rush.
LUNCH: Teriyaki Beef Dippers, rice, broccoli, fresh fruit
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS GOLF @ Pacifica. Team excused at 11:15 to depart at 11:20.
2. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - AWAY @ PACIFICA. JV match begins at 5PM, Varsity follows. Team will depart immediately when school ends.
3. Sports pictures for boys’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer and wrestling are all available for pick-up at the KSSP studio (330 Central Ave,
524-6400).
CLUBS:
1. Anime Club meeting Today (Monday) and Thursday in the Art Room at lunch
2. MENTOR PROGRAM: Monday lunch meeting Rm 49. Sespe after school mentoring. Mentors who are not showing up will be dropped; your
grade will also be affected if you are mentoring for class credit.
3. Prayer Club -Tuesday at lunch in room 2. We welcome everyone!
4. Art Club meeting on Tuesday at lunch in the art room.
5. Dead Poets Club – meeting Wednesday at lunch in the drama room. Open to all!
6. S Club – meeting Thursday at lunch in Mr. Martinez’s room. Group picture day, so be sure your S Club shirt if you have one.
SENIORS:
1. The Department of Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM) at Cal Poly Pomona will be holding a special Open House Event on
Friday and Saturday March 4th and 5th, 8:45 a.m. to Noon. The showcase will provide high school students who are interested in exploring
higher degree opportunities with a chance to learn about the apparel business, the huge array of exciting career prospects it offers for both
men and women, and the unique qualities of the AMM program at Cal Poly. R.S.V.P. by March 1st to the AMM administrative coordinator,

• Soroptimist International of Fillmore, Imogene Vest Scholarship - students who have a 3.0 GPA or higher, able to demonstrate you are
actively working to make your community a better place, and attending a higher education institution in the fall of 2011 immediately following

STUDENTS:
1. Sadie Hawkins Dance Tickets – buy your tickets in the Student Store at lunch. Tickets are $10 per person. The dance is FRIDAY, March
5th in the gym.
2. Higher Ed Week II is coming to Fillmore High School on the evening of Tuesday, March 1st, in the high school gym. Speak with college
representatives from UC’s, CSU’s, Private Universities, Community Colleges, and trade schools. Bring the family! Win an IPOD!
3. Yearbook info - You may order personalization for your yearbook for only $5. Have your name and/or icons on the cover of your yearbook
and help prevent loss/theft. Order forms are available in the Student Store. Deadline: February 28th at 3:15.
4. Students: The Fillmore Unified School district board policy provides a process for complaints alleging discrimination of a program or a
program’s failure to comply with state or federal law. The policy protects the privacy right’s of the complainant and prohibits retaliation for filing
a complaint. Complaints must be written on “Program Discrimination/Legal Violation Complaint Form” available from the Assistant
Superintendent and filed within six months of the incident or when it became known. Help in filling out the form will be provided if needed. All
other types of complaints, including complaints regarding personnel or instructional materials follow other board policies. The process for
registering other complaints is: 1) if the complaint concerns a teacher, first contact the teacher. 2) if the complaints are not resolved by the
teacher, contact the principal of the school, then the district superintendent, and finally the Board of Education. Complete copies of these

Dress Up Days: Tuesday – Girls wear ties/Boys wear bows in their hair; Wednesday – Girls Barbies/Boys GI Joe (action figures);
Thursday – Girls Cowgirls/Boys Cowboys; Friday – Girls Blue/Boys Pink
Renaissance Awards Night – Wednesday at 6:30 in the Sespe Auditorium.
Invitations will be delivered to students 3rd period on Monday.
