PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: March 2, 1917 - Puerto Rico became a U.S. territory and Puerto Ricans gained American citizenship.
LUNCH: Beef and cheese taco, Spanish rice, lettuce/tomato, fresh fruit
Congratulations to Ana Pantoja and Dulce Rodriguez. They have been accepted to FIDM, which is a WASC approved college.
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS GOLF @ Elkins w/Pacificia – Team excused at 12:10.
2. SOFTBALL - AWAY@ DOS PUEBLOS. JV and Varsity games begin at 3:30PM. Team is excused from class at 12:45PM and will depart
FHS at 1:00PM.
3. Boys’ Soccer banquet –Friday at 6:00 in the cafeteria. A-L brings main dish and salad/side dish; M-Z – main dish and dessert.
4. Sports pictures for boys’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer and wrestling are all available for pick-up at the KSSP studio (330 Central Ave,
524-6400).
CLUBS:
1. MENTOR PROGRAM: San Cayetano mentoring today after school, meet in Rm 17 be 3:15pm.
2. Dead Poets Club – meeting Wednesday at lunch in the drama room. Open to all!
3. Flashes Go Green & Interact Clubs – meeting Thursday at lunch in Mr. Richter’s room. See you there.
4. S Club – meeting Thursday at lunch in Mr. Martinez’s room. Group picture day, so be sure your S Club shirt if you have one.
5. Anime Club meeting Thursday in the Art Room at lunch
6. Flashes Go Green CLEAN UP this Friday! Meet after school in the quad. Help us clean and have free snacks!
SENIORS:
1. The Department of Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM) at Cal Poly Pomona will be holding a special Open House Event on
Friday and Saturday March 4th and 5th, 8:45 a.m. to Noon. The showcase will provide high school students who are interested in exploring
higher degree opportunities with a chance to learn about the apparel business, the huge array of exciting career prospects it offers for both
men and women, and the unique qualities of the AMM program at Cal Poly. R.S.V.P. by March 1st to the AMM administrative coordinator,

• Soroptimist International of Fillmore, Imogene Vest Scholarship - students who have a 3.0 GPA or higher, able to demonstrate you are
actively working to make your community a better place, and attending a higher education institution in the fall of 2011 immediately following
graduation. Deadline is March 22nd. See Mrs. Larin for an application.
• Rotary Club of Fillmore Sun Risers - seniors who reside within Fillmore Unified School District. Deadline is April 1st. See Mrs. Larin for an
application.
• San Jose State University is offering the Silicon Valley Engineering Scholarship For complete details, go to

• National Association of State Directors of Migrant Education is offering the Albert Lee Wright, Jr. Memorial Migrant Scholarship to students who show
history of movement for agricultural employment, display scholastic achievement, and demonstrate financial need. For complete details, go to

JUNIORS:
1. Powder Puff info – please pay uniform fee by March 3rd in room 4. Players $25; coaches $15.
2. Juniors are selling Butter Braid! Find any junior if you would like to buy a delicious pastry! Juniors – for each one sold you will earn 1 Arch
Bearer point. The top seller will receive an extra 15 points; 2nd will get an extra 10 points; 3rd an extra 5 points. All money raised goes towards
our awesome prom.
3. Earn Arch Bearer Points – Sign up in Room 4 for wearing: Tuesday: Ties/Bows; Wednesday: Cowboys/Cowgirls; Thursday: Blue/Pink;
Friday: Barbie or Powder Puff T-Shirt/ Gi Joe or Powder Puff Coaches T-Shirt …..Go Juniors!
STUDENTS:
1. Sadie Hawkins Dance Tickets – buy your tickets in the Student Store at lunch. Tickets are $10 per person. The dance is SATURDAY,
March 5th in the gym.
2. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
