PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: March 8, 1948 - The Supreme Court ruled that religious instruction in public schools violated the Constitution.
LUNCH: Chili con carne, cornbread muffin, coleslaw, fresh fruit
Congratulations to Jazzlyn Gonda. She has been accepted to CSU Northridge, Bakersfield, and Los Angeles.
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - HOME w/PACIFICA. JV game begins at 5PM and Varsity follows.
2. JV Girls Basketball team – bring your uniforms to the gym on Wednesday at lunch.
3. The Color Guard and Girls Basketball pictures are available at the KSSP studio (330 Central Ave., 524-6400) for pick-up. If you haven't
picked up for other sports, please check with the studio.
CLUBS:
1. Anime Club meeting Thursday at lunch in the Art Room. MENTOR PROGRAM: No after school or lunch mentoring due to "Black Out Week".
2. Prayer Club meets today at lunch in room 2. Come join us!
3. Art Club meeting Tuesday at lunch in the Art Room. Yearbook photo will be taken.
4. FHS UC Ambassadors – come to Rm. 61 at lunch on Tuesday for our yearbook picture. Wear your shirts!
SENIORS:
1. The registrar is out of the office until Thursday, 3/10. Seniors who need transcripts before that will need to see Mrs. Ashim.
2. KSSP has begun our Cap & Gown Portrait special for seniors. We have the gown and cap with tassel and year. Flyers were mailed out.

• Rotary Club of Fillmore Sun Risers - Deadline is April 1st.

• Fillmore Women’s Service Club - Deadline is April 6th.

• Ronald Reagan Scholarship - leadership skills and a strong personal character at school, at home, in the workplace, or within the community. Must
demonstrate strong academic performance (3.0 or greater GPA), be a U.S. citizen, and plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited U.S. college or
university in Fall 2011. Need three recommendations by authority figures who have observed them in a leadership role. Must write an essay on the following
topic: Before Ronald Reagan became America’s 40th president, Ronald Reagan pursued leadership roles to inspire and advocate for those around him.

JUNIORS:
1. Juniors are selling Butter Braid! Find any junior if you would like to buy a delicious pastry! Juniors – for each one sold you will earn 1 Arch
Bearer point. The top seller will receive an extra 15 points; 2nd will get an extra 10 points; 3rd an extra 5 points. All money raised goes towards
our awesome prom.
STUDENTS:
1. MIGRANT EDUCATION STUDENTS – Speech and Debate Team informational meeting TODAY at lunch in the drama room.
2. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
3. SATURDAY SCHOOL – March 12th.
4. Students in Night School - you must attend and turn in work on a regular basis. Finish the course you are taking ASAP. We do not know
how much longer the program will exist. If you have any questions, please see your counselor or the Night School teachers.
5. STUDENT STORE – CLOSED UNTIL LUNCH TODAY.
6. Prom info – all detentions and truancies must be made up BEFORE the prom.
7. The Arts Show is scheduled for April 12th. If you have artwork that you would like to exhibit in the show, please bring it/them to Ms. M (room
34) after Spring Break.
8. Reminder: The deadline for the Ventura County Fair poster contest is March 31st.
9. ASB will be hosting the first FHS TALENT SHOW in May. Auditions will be in April, so start preparing your performances. We will accept live
musical performances, magic tricks, lip-syncing, dance performances and more.
10. FFA Blood Drive – Thursday March 31st. If you are 16 years of age or older you may donate. Permission slips are in the Health Office. Must
be turned in by Friday 3/25.
