PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: March 9, 1933 - The special session of Congress known as the "100 days" opened, launching FDR's New Deal.
LUNCH: Stuffed baked potato, salad with dressing, fresh fruit.
ATHLETICS:
1. VARSITY BASEBALL - HOME w/CHANNEL ISLANDS. Game begins at 3PM.
2. SWIMMING - HOME w/HUENEME. Meet begins at 3PM. Swim Team is excused from class at 1:55PM and needs to report to the pool.
• SWIM MEET COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS – The swim team needs timers for all home meets. If you are interested in
earning community service, stop by the pool after school. There is a meet today, and they could really use your help. Thanks.
3. SOFTBALL - HOME w/SAN MARCOS. Both JV and Varsity Games begin at 3:30PM.
4. JV BASEBALL - AWAY @ CHANNEL ISLANDS. Game begins at 3PM. JV Boys will be excused at 1PM and depart at 1:15PM.
5. JV Girls Basketball team – bring your uniforms to the gym on Wednesday at lunch.
6. Girls Basketball Team is selling See’s Candy until April 4th. See Coach Tafoya or any team member if you would like to order candy for
Easter.
7. The Color Guard and Girls Basketball pictures are available at the KSSP studio (330 Central Ave., 524-6400) for pick-up. If you haven't
picked up for other sports, please check with the studio.
CLUBS:
1. Anime Club meeting Thursday at lunch in the Art Room.
2. The GAME Club – come lose “The GAME” on Wednesday and Thursday after school by the band room. Newcomers welcome. We’ll be
electing officers and discussing the purpose of the club. Oh, and you have already lost “the GAME”.
SENIORS:
1. KSSP has begun our Cap & Gown Portrait special for seniors. We have the gown and cap with tassel and year. Contact the studio for details.

• Fillmore Women’s Service Club - Deadline is April 6th.

STUDENTS:
1. You may have noticed the motorcycle patrol officer out in force this week. He is aggressively enforcing the crosswalk and parking laws. Do
not cross against a red light, do not stop in the middle of the street to drop off students and don’t forget to STOP if pedestrians are in the
crosswalk.
2. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
3. SATURDAY SCHOOL – March 12th.
4. Students in Night School - you must attend and turn in work on a regular basis. Finish the course you are taking ASAP. We do not know
how much longer the program will exist. If you have any questions, please see your counselor or the Night School teachers.
5. Renaissance Awards – The students that did not make it to the awards program last week can pick up their certificates and/or t-shirts in the
Student Store during lunch TODAY – Friday.
6. STUDENTS TAKING SATURDAY P.A.S.S. CLASSES: THERE WILL BE CLASS THIS SATURDAY, MARCH 12th, BUT NO CLASS WILL
BE HELD SATURDAY, MARCH 19. FINISH UP YOUR CLASSES! AND REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY TAKE 1 CLASS AT A TIME,
UNLESS YOU'RE A SENIOR.
7. Prom info – all detentions and truancies must be made up BEFORE the prom.
8. The Arts Show is scheduled for April 12th. If you have artwork that you would like to exhibit in the show, please bring it/them to Ms. M (room
34) after Spring Break.
9. FFA Blood Drive – Thursday March 31st. If you are 16 years of age or older you may donate. Permission slips are in the Health Office. Must
be turned in by Friday 3/25.
10. ASB will be hosting the first FHS TALENT SHOW in May. Auditions will be in April, so start preparing your performances. We will accept live
musical performances, magic tricks, lip-syncing, dance performances and more. STAFF – You are welcome to participate, too! If you don’t
want to participate, but would like to judge the show, please let Mr. Overton or Tatyana Chessani know.

Friday, March 11 MINIMUM DAY – SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:05, ENDS AT 12:20

Fourth quarter starts on MONDAY, March 21st. NO Staff Development Day this quarter!
