PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: April 5, 1792 - George Washington cast the first presidential veto.
LUNCH: Spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic bread, salad, fresh fruit.
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS GOLF - AWAY @ Santa Paula. Match begins at 1:30PM. Team is excused from class 11:30AM to depart at 11:35AM.
2. JV SOFTBALL - AWAY @ Santa Paula. JV game begins at 3:30PM. JV TEAM ONLY is excused from class at 1:45PM to depart at 2PM.
3. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - AWAY @ Malibu. JV match begins at 5PM, Varsity follows. Team is excused from class at 2:15PM to depart at
2:30PM.
CLUBS:
1. Prayer Club -Tuesday at lunch in room 2. We welcome everyone!
2. BAND CLUB – meeting on Wednesday at lunch in Mr. Fitzgerald’s room.
3. Anime Club meeting on Thursday at lunch in the art room.
4. Dead Poet’s Club – meeting Thursday at lunch in the drama room. Make sure your Art Show poems are complete!
5. The M.E.Ch.A Club invites all ladies to sign up to run for the Cinco de Mayo court. Sign up in Rm. 45 (Ms. Juarez) before school, tutorial or
at lunch. Interviews will be April 11 - 14. (date change)
SENIORS:
1. Graduation Announcements will be handed out on Friday, April 15th during lunch. You will be receiving a postcard from Josten’s with your
balance at the beginning of April. You can only pay with Cash, Debit or Credit card…NO CHECKS. If you have questions see Ms. Sheff or
Lynn.

• Fillmore Women’s Service Club - Deadline is April 6th.
• Mario and Rosaria Contini Scholarship - Deadline is April 15th.
• Henry Mayo Newhall Scholarship - Deadline is April 15th.
• Bob Kernen Memorial Scholarship - Deadline is April 22nd.
• Elizabeth Hinklin Fillmore Girls Softball Scholarship - Deadline is
April 13th.
• JDC Family Foundation Scholarship - students who have displayed
academic success, community involvement, and the need for financial
assistance to complete his/her higher education. Deadline is May
1st.
• If you have a parent who works for Fillmore Unified School District as a
classified employee, please see Mrs. Larin for the C.S.E.A.
Scholarship. Deadline is May 6th.
• Fillmore Citizens Patrol - students who are seeking a career in a
safety related field such as law enforcement, firefighter, and/or
paramedics. Deadline is May 6th.
• Fillmore Lions Club - students who live within Fillmore Unified School
District, or attend Fillmore High School full time and planning to pursue
higher education. Deadline is May 6th.
JUNIORS:
1. The Junior Class is looking for a talented, dedicated person to be the new secretary. Applications will be available in the Student Store.
Interview will be held by the Junior class officer.
SOPHMORES:
1. CLASS RINGS - Jostens will be here Wednesday, April 6th and Thursday, April 7th during break and lunch to take orders for class rings.
STUDENTS:
1. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
2. ART SHOW - Last call for entries into the Art show. Bring paintings or drawings to Room 34 by Wednesday.
3. FHS Talent Show- pick up an audition form in the Student Store. Turn it in by April 13th to Mr. Overton or Barbara Lemons.
TEACHERS – You’re invited to participate also! Who knows, you might be discovered!
4. 7th - 12th graders are now required to get a whooping cough booster shot before starting the 2011-2012 school year. Call your
doctor today & make an appointment to get your required vaccines ASAP.
5. TRIO – ETS (CSUCI) is offering its Sophomore and Junior student participants the opportunity to take part in a College Road Trip to San
Diego 2011 FREE OF CHARGE. Students who participate will have the opportunity to stay in the dormitories of Cal State San Diego for 3
days, and it will include meals, board, transportation, entrance to the San Diego Museum of Art, etc. The trip will be Wednesday June 15th –
Friday June 17th in San Diego. Please, see either Mrs. Ashim or Mrs. Sandford if you need an extra copy of the College Road Trip Application
or Parent Brochure. Remember to please turn it in before the scheduled deadline of Friday April 8th to either one of the 2 Counselors.

6. The API Celebration is April 21st. If you want to perform or know someone who does, sign up in the Student Store. All bands are welcome!
Teachers/Staff & non-FHS students are included. Hurry & sign up. 1st come, 1st served. Limited spots available.
7. Community Service Opportunity - San Cayetano School needs student volunteers to help at our Family Science Night event. The event
takes place on April 14th. They need helpers from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. If you are interested please call the office to sign up, 524-6040.
Prom Information:
1. Attached to yesterday’s bulletin was a power point of Dress Code Regulations for the Prom created for you by the Junior Class Officers. It is
the same dress code that we have always used presented in an easy to see format! You may view it by logging on to Fillmore High School’s
website and clicking on to the Prom Information link. They are also available in Rm. 4. Guest Pass contracts will be available next week.
