1. MENTOR PROGRAM: Mentor meeting Rm 49. Sespe after school mentoring, meet in Rm 17.

3. The M.E.Ch.A Club Cinco de Mayo court interviews AFTER SCHOOL in Rm. 45: TODAY – Freshmen; Tuesday – Sophomores; Wednesday
– Juniors; Thursday – Seniors.
SENIORS:
1. Graduation Announcements will be handed out on Friday, April 15th during lunch. You will be receiving a postcard from Josten’s with your
balance at the beginning of April. You can only pay with Cash, Debit or Credit card…NO CHECKS. If you have questions see Ms. Sheff or
Lynn. Cap & gowns will be distributed on April 29th.
2. THE FOLLOWING SENIORS HAVE 6 SATURDAY'S LEFT TO COMPLETE THEIR P.A.S.S. CLASSES: Daniel Bravo, Aritzbeth Castrejon,

• Henry Mayo Newhall Scholarship - Deadline is April 15th.
• Bob Kernen Memorial Scholarship - Deadline is April 22nd.
• Elizabeth Hinklin Fillmore Girls Softball Scholarship - Deadline is
April 13th.
• JDC Family Foundation Scholarship - Deadline is May 1st.
• C.S.E.A. Scholarship. Deadline is May 6th.
• Fillmore Citizens Patrol - Deadline is May 6th.
• Fillmore Lions Club - Deadline is May 6th.
SOPHMORES:
1. Sign up in the Student Store if you would like to volunteer to work in the snack bar during softball home games. Also, if you have any other
fundraising ideas, write them down and give them to Lynn in the Student Store.
JUNIORS:
1. Another opportunity to earn Arch bearer points and community service is here. Sign up to help with the San Cayetano Science Fair on April
14th from 5 – 8 pm in room 3 with Ms. Tafoya. We need about 25 students. Some will be selling glow sticks and others will help with the fair.
You will be awarded 5 points.
FRESHMEN:
1. Chalking the F is coming up shortly. If you would like to attend, please sign up in the Student Store. The first 30 to sign up will get first
opportunity to go. If your parents are able to at help, sign them up also. We will have a class meeting soon to discuss more details.
STUDENTS:
1. “Drawn Into The Arts” Fillmore High School’s Arts Show and Performance will be held on Tuesday April 12th from 6:30 p.m.-8:30p.m.
at the Memorial Building. View student works of art, photos and wood projects and enjoy Band and Drama performances and poetry readings.
All are invited to come to the event.
2. A representative from Antelope Valley College (aerospace technology), will be on campus on Friday, April 15th during lunch in the College
and Career Center to speak to interested students.
3. Night School Info - Night School is ending soon. Students, please finish up your work ASAP. English 9 & 11 work - turn in to Ms. Schieferle.
English 10 & 12 work - turn in to Ms. Trina Tafoya. Essays & math work - turn in to Mrs. Ashim. No new students are being enrolled for this
year. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Ashim. ALL STUDENTS – You are welcomed to come to night school to work on homework
or get help from the teacher!
4. FHS Talent Show- pick up an audition form in the Student Store. Turn it in by April 13th to Mr. Overton or Barbara Lemons. TEACHERS –
You’re invited to participate also! Who knows, you might be discovered!
5. Community Service Opportunity - San Cayetano School needs student volunteers to help at our Family Science Night event. The event
takes place on April 14th. They need helpers from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. If you are interested please call the office to sign up, 524-6040.
6. SATURDAY SCHOOL – April 16th in the library.
7. The Fillmore Aquatic Center will be having class's for anyone interested in becoming a swim instructor. The dates for the Water Safety
Instruction (swim instructor) class are April 15 - April 17 and April 29 - May 1. This also is just ONE class that covers two weekends Friday,
Sat. and Sun. The cost of this class is $150.00 and does cover materials. Sign up and payment are also at Fillmore City Hall.
Prom Information:
1. Thinking of going to Prom? Sure you are! Don’t miss out! Do your homework, ask questions in class and get whatever help you need
because you must have minimum of a 2.0 GPA by the 4th qtr Progress Report to go to Prom and all detentions cleared up and no truancies
etc., You are needed at Prom so get busy getting the GPA up, be good and be at school! :)
2. Prom is just around the corner! It parents would like to chaperone, please email Mrs. Marvel – tmarvel@fillmore.k12.ca.us and let he know.
We need to know who would like to chaperone, so we can communicate all the particulars.
3. Prom dresses and suits are available for loan. See Ms Norma or Mrs. Marvel.
