PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: April 19, 1775 - The "shot heard around the world" was fired. Colonial Minute Men took on British Army regulars at
Lexington and Concord, Mass., starting the American Revolution.
LUNCH: Spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic bread, green beans, fresh fruit
ATHLETICS:
1. BASEBALL – HOME w/SANTA CLARA. JV and Varsity games begin at 3:30PM. Team is excused from class at 2:15PM.
2. SOFTBALL – HOME w/LA REINA – VARSITY ONLY. Game begins at 3:30PM. VARSITY TEAM ONLY is excused from class at 2:15PM.
3. BOYS VOLLEYBALL – HOME w/CARPINTERIA. JV match begins at 5PM, Varsity follows.
4. Wrestling sign-ups Wednesday after school for all interested male & female students. Meet in the wrestling room.
CLUBS:
1. FHS Ambassador Club - meeting Tuesday, April 19th at lunch in Room 61. Be there to discuss our next big event – UC Success Night.
2. Prayer Club will meet Tuesday at lunch in room 2. We welcome everyone!
3. Sports Hall of Fame Club – meeting TODAY in Mr. Dann’s room during lunch. New members always welcome!
4. MENTOR PROGRAM: Mtn. Vista mentoring today after school. We have toys for your "littles" RM 17.
5. Art Club meeting today at lunch in room 34.
6. M.E.Ch.A: THE CLUB THANKS ALL THE TALENTED LADIES WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE CINCO DE MAYO INTERVIEWS. You did a
beautiful job! CONGRATULATIONS TO: Freshman: Carolina Laureano. Sophmore: Yazmine Luna. Junior: Alejandra Medina. Seniors:
princesses: Maria Renteria, Teresa Suarez. Queen: Yuritzi Gonzalez. (Meeting on Tuesday during lunch Room 45)
SENIORS:
1. If you have any suggestions for the Senior Song, please let Ms. Schieferle or Lynn Cole know.
2. Cap & Gowns & Graduation Announcements that were not picked up last week will be handed out on April 28th.
3. GRAD NITE LIVE – please turn in Central Station money and/or tickets.
4. DISNEYLAND TRIP - This year’s cost to go on the Disneyland Trip is $57.00. Start early by paying for your ticket or you can make
payments to the Student Store. Permission Slips are available in the Student Store and must be completed prior to the trip.

• JDC Family Foundation Scholarship - Deadline is May 1st.

FRESHMEN:
1. Attention! If you want to chalk the F, please attend the class meeting on April 20th at 12:35 in Mrs. Kirkpatrick’s room to discuss details of the
trip and what supplies we need. Be there no later than 12:45. Must attend & sign up in order to go.
STUDENTS:
1. Mrs. Beylik’s, ROP students, who are interning in a business downtown: Please remember to let your supervisor know you will not be
there Thursday because of the schedule change for the API celebration.
2. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
3. Seniors and Juniors - come sign up to attend the Youth Empowerment Summit - Friday, May 6, 2011 from 7:30am to 3:30pm @ Oxnard
college. Come sign up in the Mentor room or with Mrs. Sandford Space is limited.
4. CSUCI TRiO – ETS College Road Trip – deadline extended to Thursday, 4/21. Turn your application in to your counselor.
Prom Information:
1. Prom is just around the corner! If parents would like to chaperone, please email Mrs. Marvel – tmarvel@fillmore.k12.ca.us and let her know.
We need to know who would like to chaperone, so we can communicate all the particulars.
All students entering 7th -12th grades in August 2011 are required to have a Tdap booster. Public Health is telling us
'no shot, no school'. Clinicas del Camino Real in Fillmore, 355 Central Avenue is offering 4 Tdap vaccine clinics on
Saturdays from 9-1:30 - April 29, May 14, May 21. A parent must accompany student
