PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: April 26, 1865 - John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln’s assassin, was surrounded by federal troops in a barn in Virginia. He
was shot and killed, either by the soldiers or by his own hand.
LUNCH: Soft beef taco, Spanish rice, lettuce/tomato, fresh fruit.
CONGRATULATIONS: Staff of the Year: Joe Woods; Substitute of the Year: Mrs. Wareham; Teacher of the Year: Mr. Overton. They were
recognized at Friday’s API Celebration event.
ATHLETICS:
1. SOFTBALL – HOME w/NORDHOFF. JV and Varsity games begin at 3:30PM.
2. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - HOME w/NORDHOFF. JV match begins at 5PM, Varsity follows.
3. BASEBALL – AWAY @ CABRILLO. JV and Varsity games begin at 4:00PM. Players are excused at 12:15PM and will depart FHS at
12:30PM.
CLUBS:
1. Prayer Club – no meeting this week due to minimum days.
2. FHS Ambassadors – members are reminded to go to City Hall after school on Thursday to set up for UC Success Night.
3. Mentors – No mentoring this week due to testing
SENIORS:

5. DISNEYLAND TRIP - This year’s cost to go on the Disneyland Trip is $57.00. Start early by paying for your ticket or you can make
payments to the Student Store. Permission Slips are available in the Student Store and must be completed prior to the trip.

STUDENTS:
1. Saturday School on April 30 – might be the last chance before the Prom.
2. Seniors and Juniors - come sign up to attend the Youth Empowerment Summit - Friday, May 6, 2011 from 7:30am to 3:30pm @ Oxnard
college. Come sign up in the Mentor room or with Mrs. Sandford Space is limited.
3. AP TESTS – Payment for AP test are due by FRIDAY. Contact Mr. Wilber if you are not able to make
this deadline. AP tests begin next week!
4. No PE Make Up Run this week.
Prom Information:
1. Prom tickets will go on sale on Thur., April 28th in the Student Store. If you plan to bring a date that is not a current student at Fillmore High
School, you must get a GUEST PASS at the Student Store. Guest Passes must be complete before you will be sold a ticket. Cost is
$45/single or $90/couple. Prices will go up to $50/$100 on May 9th. The prom will be on May 14th at the Museum of Ventura County (100 E.
Main St., Ventura) from 8:00 – midnight.
All students entering 7th -12th grades in August 2011 are required to have a Tdap booster. Public Health is telling us
'no shot, no school'. Clinicas del Camino Real in Fillmore, 355 Central Avenue is offering 4 Tdap vaccine clinics on
Saturdays from 9-1:30 - April 30, May 14, May 21. A parent must accompany student
STAR Testing – Tuesday – Friday – MINIMUM DAYS
8:00 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
Busses will pick up at 12:45 p.m.
