PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: May 10, 1775 - Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys captured Fort Ticonderoga from the British.

ATHLETICS:
1. Congratulations to our Fillmore High School Track and Field Team. Both the Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity are league champions for the
2011 season. In addition the JV teams also won league. Way to go runners, jumpers and throwers. Congratulations to the following track
athletes who qualified for CIF Prelims this Saturday: In the 4 x 100m Relay: Christian Cornejo, Daniel Cruz, Alberto Fernandez and Juan
Mariscal. For individual races, Kiana Hope qualified in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m, Juan Mariscal qualified in the 400m, Jose Almaguer
qualified in the 1600m and in Girls High Jump, Anna Aarastad. We also want to congratulate Kiana Hope, as a freshman she has won
MVP for the Frontier League.
2. VARSITY BASEBALL – AWAY @ BISHOP DIEGO. Game begins at 2:30PM. Team is excused from class at 12:00PM to depart at
12:30PM.
3. JV BASEBALL – AWAY @ BISHOP DIEGO. Game follows Varsity’s. Team is excused from class at 1:45PM to depart at 2PM.
4. VARSITY SOFTBALL - AWAY @ ST. BONAVENTURE. Game begins at 3:30PM. Team is excused from class at 1:15PM to depart at
1:20PM.
5. Boys Basketball – Come to a meeting in Room #58 on Wednesday, May 11th to hear about the upcoming season. Meeting will begin at
12:50 pm. Bring a pencil or pen. If you have any questions see Mr. Quiroz.
CLUBS:
1. Prayer Club will meet Tuesday at lunch in room 2. We welcome everyone!
2. Art Club meeting today in Room 34 at lunch to discuss the Last Blast
3. Anime Club meeting on Thursday at lunch in Room 34
4. Flashes Go Green & InterAct Clubs – meeting Thursday at lunch in Mr. Richter’s room to elect officers for next school year.
5. MENTOR PROGRAM: Mtn. Vista mentoring after school. Big Appreciation Day this Thursday please turn in permission slips.
6. All Clubs – the 2nd Annual Make-A-Wish, Kids for Wish Kids Walk-a-thon is quickly approaching and ASB is looking for clubs to sponsor fun
activities the day of the event. All proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish. Anyone interested should contact ASB member, Kianna Tarango at

1. Seniors taking PASS Saturday class: your last day of class will be sat. May 21st. Your print out with your final grade needs to be turned in to
Mrs. Ashim Mon. May 23rd.
2. DISNEYLAND TRIP - MONEY WAS DUE FRIDAY. YOU ARE LATE!!! This year’s cost to go on the Disneyland Trip is $57.00.
Permission Slips are available in the Student Store and must be completed prior to the trip.

1. The Make-A Wish Walk-a-thon is on May 18, 2011. The ASB is pre-selling t-shirts. All profits will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Contact

STUDENTS:
1. PEP SQUAD SIGN UPS – If you are interested in trying out for the 2011-2012 Pep Squad, please sign up at the clip board at Mrs. Lemons’
desk. More information to follow in the bulletin regarding tryouts.
2. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
3. All Cafeteria accounts must be paid in full ASAP!
4. Fillmore-Piru Relay for Life committee is looking for a local singer/group (any age) to sing the national anthem at the opening ceremony this
year. Auditions will be held at the Fillmore May Festival on Sat., May 21st at the V.C. Trade School Stage – Central Park at 3:00 p.m.
Prom Information:
1. TICKETS ARE SOLD IN THE Student Store at lunch and after school until 3:30! Price is $50/$100. The prom is going to be a night of
FRIENDSHIP and DANCING and, soft lights, a waterfall wall, three video screens, an amazing photographer, the best ever sound system,
Starbucks desserts and all of your friends! The prom will be SATURDAY May 14th at the Museum of Ventura County (100 E. Main St.,
Ventura) from 8:00 – midnight. Ask that person to go - no big deal! BE THERE!
2. Don't whine about the high cost of going out to dinner for prom! Save money, be creative and go to Costco and get a hot dog and a soda for
$1.50 and then go walk on the pier in Ventura and enjoy the sound of the waves and the view of the Pacific Ocean! How Cool is that - hey
people in Kansas would love to do that! Then go to the prom and have a great time dancing and have dessert by Starbucks! .... Mrs. Marvel
