PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: May 11, 1894 - The Pullman Strike began.

ATHLETICS:
1. Congratulations to our Fillmore High School Track and Field Team. Both the Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity are league champions for the
2011 season. In addition the JV teams also won league. Way to go runners, jumpers and throwers. Congratulations to the following track
athletes who qualified for CIF Prelims this Saturday: In the 4 x 100m Relay: Christian Cornejo, Daniel Cruz, Alberto Fernandez and Juan
Mariscal. For individual races, Kiana Hope qualified in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m, Juan Mariscal qualified in the 400m, Jose Almaguer
qualified in the 1600m and in Girls High Jump, Anna Aarastad. We also want to congratulate Kiana Hope, as a freshman she has won
MVP for the Frontier League.
2. Boys Basketball – Come to a meeting in Room #58 on Wednesday, May 11th to hear about the upcoming season. Meeting will begin at
12:50 pm. Bring a pencil or pen. If you have any questions see Mr. Quiroz.
CLUBS:
1. Anime Club meeting on Thursday at lunch in Room 34
2. Flashes Go Green & InterAct Clubs – meeting Thursday at lunch in Mr. Richter’s room to elect officers for next school year.
3. MENTOR PROGRAM: San Cayetano mentoring after school. "Bigs Appreciation" bus leaves @ 4pm from Rm 17.
4. S Club – meeting on Thursday in Mr. Martinez’s room at lunch to discuss field trips, last blast & elections.
5. All Clubs – the 2nd Annual Make-A-Wish, Kids for Wish Kids Walk-a-thon is quickly approaching and ASB is looking for clubs to sponsor fun
activities the day of the event. All proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish. Anyone interested should contact ASB member, Kianna Tarango at

SENIORS:
1. Night School will be held this and next week on Tuesday and Wednesday as normal. The last week, it will be held on Monday, the 23rd and
Tuesday, the 24th. ALL WORK MUST BE TURNED IN NO LATER THAN THE 24TH.
2. The PASS Program will be held on Saturday the 14th and 21st. ALL WORK MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE 21ST.

3. Grad Nite Live money – DUE NOW. Please take all money to Attractions Spa on Central Avenue ASAP. The Seniors that did not participate
in our fund raisers will have to pay $100 for their Harbor Boat Cruise and Bus ticket this year.
4. DISNEYLAND TRIP - MONEY WAS DUE FRIDAY. YOU ARE LATE!!! This year’s cost to go on the Disneyland Trip is $57.00. Permission
Slips are available in the Student Store and must be completed prior to the trip.
5. Motion Picture Industry Joint Apprenticeship Committee - applications for apprenticeships in the occupation of Heating, Ventilation, Air

1. The Make-A Wish Walk-a-thon is on May 18, 2011. The ASB is pre-selling t-shirts. All profits will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Contact

STUDENTS:
1. PEP SQUAD SIGN UPS – If you are interested in trying out for the 2011-2012 Pep Squad, please sign up at the clip board at Mrs. Lemons’
desk. More information to follow in the bulletin regarding tryouts.
2. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
3. ROP students serving internships: You are marked absent until your timecard is turned in to Mrs. Beylik. She can then clear your
absences with Mrs. Pena.
4. All Cafeteria accounts must be paid in full ASAP!
5. Fillmore-Piru Relay for Life committee is looking for a local singer/group (any age) to sing the national anthem at the opening ceremony this
year. Auditions will be held at the Fillmore May Festival on Sat., May 21st at the V.C. Trade School Stage – Central Park at 3:00 p.m.
Students and Staff: The library will be closed on Wednesday due to CAHSEE testing. It will be open before and after school only .
Prom Information:
1. TICKETS ARE SOLD IN THE Student Store at lunch and after school until 3:30! Price is $50/$100. The prom is going to be a night of
FRIENDSHIP and DANCING and, soft lights, a waterfall wall, three video screens, an amazing photographer, the best ever sound system,
Starbucks desserts and all of your friends! The prom will be SATURDAY May 14th at the Museum of Ventura County (100 E. Main St.,
Ventura) from 8:00 – midnight. Ask that person to go - no big deal! BE THERE!
