PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: May 27, 1937 - Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco opened.

ATHLETICS:
1. If you ordered a Letterman’s Jacket see Lynn in the Student Store.
2. Swim team pictures are available at KSSP Studio for pick up.
CLUBS
1. Prayer Club –last meeting of the year - FRIDAY at lunch in Mrs. Archer’s room #2. Hope to see you
there.
2. Flashes Go Green – will be hosting the LOCKER CLEAN-OUT on June 3rd from 8 – noon. We need
as many helpers as we can. This is a great opportunity to earn service hours. You will also get lunch
and any free knickknacks you want.
SENIORS:
1. Senior clearance – this Friday – can take the entire day so it would be a good idea to cancel any other commitments you may have. We, in the
library, will not always be able to accommodate people who have to go to work or other appointments. It is an incredibly busy day

SCHOLARSHIPS:
• Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity - Balanced Man Scholarship to young men who exemplify the qualities of a Sound Mind and Sound Body. Students must be
planning to attend Cal State Fresno. Deadline is June 21st. For complete details, see Mrs. Larin.
• California Association of Pest Control - students who plan to attend a Ventura or Santa Barbara Community College. Students must have a 2.5 GPA or
higher, be involved in agriculture or horticulture related extracurricular activities, demonstrate an interest in the fields of agriculture and/or horticulture plus a
desire to become a Pest Control Advisor. For an application, see Mrs. Larin. Deadline is June 10th.
• California Association of Pest Control - scholarship to students who plan to attend a four year California college or university. Students must have a 2.5
GPA or higher, be involved in Ag related extracurricular and/or community activities, demonstrate an interest in the fields of agriculture and/or horticulture and
a desire to become a Pest Control Advisor. For an application, see Mrs. Larin. Deadline is June 10th.
• BigSun Scholarship - student athletes. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write a short essay answering the following questions: What are your
most important extracurricular or community activities? What have you done to contribute to them? All essay submissions need to be sent to

JUNIORS:
1. If you are interested in becoming an intern for the Ventura County Sheriff's Department or a cadet for the Fillmore Fire Department or Ventura
County Fire Department during the 2011 Fall semester, see Mrs. Larin during lunch.
STUDENTS & STAFF:
1. The library will be closed ALL DAY on Friday, May 27th due to senior checkout/clearance. Seniors will be scheduled to come through with
their English class. Any senior who does not have an English class should see Ms Hoffman about getting a time to come in.
2. There are still t-shirts left over from Make-A-Wish! Come by the Student Store on Tuesday and Wednesday to buy one for $10.
STUDENTS:
1. YEARBOOKS – it’s not too late to purchase a yearbook. See Lynn in the Student Store! Cost is $80.
2. 2011-2012 PEP SQUAD TRY OUTS –Try-outs FRIDAY, May 27th at 7:00 in the gym.
3. ASB CLASS OFFICER - ELECTIONS – FRIDAY before school, at break & lunch. CANDIDATES – you MUST take down ALL of your
posters after the election. This includes the TAPE. Do not just pull the poster off and leave the tape. Thank you!
4. R.O.P. students enrolled in Mrs. Beylik’s classes: Please pay your lab fees directly to her. Checks or money orders must be made out R.O.P.
5. ALL LOCKERS MUST BE CLEANED OUT BEFORE THE END OF SCHOOL. Anything left in the lockers will be thrown away on Friday,
June 3rd!
6. All pictures, prom, mother-son and mother-daughter, are available for pick-up at the KSSP studio (330 Central) between 3 and 5 pm on
Thursday and Friday. Normal hours will resume the Tuesday after Memorial Day.
7. LATE START on FRIDAY
Get a Shot for a Shot at a Prize! Any student who brings in proof of getting a TDAP shot before June 3rd will receive shot at a prize! Take you
documentation to the Health Office! . You MUST have a current booster in order to register for the 2011-2012 school-year. ATHLETES – After
July 12th you will not be cleared to participate if you do not have your TDAP paperwork turned in!
