PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: January 13, 1990 - Douglas Wilder of Virginia became the first elected African-American governor in the United
States.
LUNCH: BBQ shredded pork sandwich, coleslaw and fruit.
ATHLETICS:
1. GIRLS SOCCER - HOME w/BISHOP DIEGO. JV Game begins at 4:30PM, Varsity follows at 6PM.
2. GIRLS BASKETBALL - AWAY @ SANTA CLARA. JV Game at 5:30PM and Varsity follows at 7PM. See Coach Suttle & Tafoya for
departure times.
3. BOYS GOLF – Mandatory golf meeting on WEDNESDAY 1/19 at lunch in Rm. 31 (Arts Building) for those interested in playing golf.
CLUBS:
1. Anime Club meeting Thursday in the Art Room (34) at lunch. New members welcome
2. S Club – meeting in Mr. Martinez’s room at lunch TODAY. Come and join.
3. MENTOR PROGRAM: Sports mentoring at lunch. Boys Girls Club mentoring after school.
4. One Step Center: All students are invited to a 3 day Video Production Workshop. Fri. 3:30-6pm, Sat. 10AM-3PM & Mon. Lecture on Mon.
by Andres Orozco. He teaches screen writing, at Oxnard College & will inform students: How to Write a Speech and present it. Mon. Jan.
17th (Dr. MLK day) in Rm 17 (mentor Rm) time 10AM-12PM.
SENIORS:
1. The senior class picture will be taken in the gym on Monday, January 24th at noon. All seniors need to wear their senior t-shirts and be on
time for the picture. Also, any student who makes an inappropriate gesture in the picture will be charged to have the picture corrected.
2. GRAD NITE LIVE – It’s time for the Central Station fundraiser.

STUDENTS:
1. WINTER FORMAL January 15th at the Memorial Building from 8 - midnight! Tickets on sale at break, lunch and after school
in the Student Store. Tickets - $35/Single & $60/Couple. The theme is Do You Believe in Magic?
2. The Pep Squad will be hosting a showcase on January 13th at 6:00 p.m. in the gym. Tickets will be sold for $5. Come
support the pep squad. Everyone is welcome. This is an opportunity to watch their competition routine.
3. If you have taken a Health Ed class Fall semester or any semester in the past and still have a Health textbook checked out please return it
ASAP to the library or else you will be charged a fine. Hurry go to the library and check in the textbook that you don't need! Thank you
4. BEAUTIFICATION DAY – is on the 22nd of January from 8 a.m. – 12 noon. Come help and assemble tables and clean the school to earn
community service hours. This open to the public, so invite your friends and family. Pizza will be served!
5. Don’t forget that we have LATE START on Friday. TARDY BELL rings at 8:35. You need to be IN YOUR SEAT by the time the tardy bell
rings.
6. Students 16 years and older - The Work Experience teacher will be on campus on Thursday at lunch in Room 41. If you have a job and are
interested in earning credits while you work, please see Mr. Silva and your counselor. If you are enrolled in ROP DIVO, you need to see Mr.
Silva on Thursday as well.

1. Totally Rad! The upcoming production between FHS Drama and Sespe Players will be having auditions IN the Drama Room on January 12
– 14 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Come and audition if you want to be in the musical! TOTALLY RAD!!!
2. Come to Rm. 4 before school and at break for yummy hot chocolate!
