PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: January 18, 1993 - All 50 states joined in the observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
LUNCH: Orange chicken, white rice, steamed broccoli, fruit
ATHLETICS:
1. GIRLS BASKETBALL - HOME w/BISHOP DIEGO. JV game begins at 5:30PM, Varsity follows at 7PM.
2. GIRLS SOCCER - AWAY @ GRACE BRETHREN. Varsity game begins at 2:30PM, JV follows. Team is excused from class at 12:30PM,
bus will depart FHS at 12:45PM.
3. BOYS GOLF – Mandatory golf meeting on WEDNESDAY 1/19 at lunch in Rm. 31 (Arts Building) for those interested in playing golf.
4. Athletic/Activity Photographs - The FHS Marching Band pictures are in and available for pick-up at the studio (330 Central Ave., 524-6400).
Boys and Girls Soccer have been photographed (Jan 13 & 14). Boys Basketball is scheduled to be photographed on January 24th. We are
trying to establish dates for Girls Basketball and Wrestling. Flyers should be sent home with the players prior to the day of the photography.
CLUBS:
1. Prayer Club meets today at lunch in room 2. Come join us!
2. MECHA CLUB – meeting TODAY at lunch in Mrs. Juarez’s room.
3. MENTOR PROGRAM: Mtn. Vista after school mentoring today.
4. CSF Club - meeting at lunch on Wednesday at 12:40 in Ms Hoffman’s room (#60). Okay to get your lunch and bring it up.
SENIORS:
1. The SENIOR CLASS PICTURE will be taken in the gym on Monday, January 24 at 12:00pm. Please wear your senior t-shirt or a solid
black (appropriate for school) t-shirt. You must be on time for the picture. Also, any student who makes an inappropriate gesture in the
picture will be charged to have the picture corrected. All debts must be cleared in order to receive your diploma.
2. GRAD NITE LIVE – It’s time for the Central Station fundraiser.

• William S. Davila Scholarship - Apply at www.sms.scholarshpamerica.org/davila. Deadline is January 20, 2011.
• Sam Walton Community Scholarship - go to http://www.act.org/walmart/community/. Deadline is January 31, 2011.
• California Association of Collectors Scholarship - Deadline is January 31, 2011. www.cacesf.org.
• Southern California Mothers of Twins Club - students who are twins, triplets, or higher. Students must be planning to attend college,
university, trade or vocational school. Scholarship will be awarded on the following criteria: financial need, academic achievement,
educational background, personal essay, educational plan, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities. For complete details, see

• If your parents and/or grandparents work for or own a restaurant, hotel, airlines, or grocery store, see Mrs. Larin in the College and Career
Center. Deadline is Feb 1st.
• Frank Kazmierczak Memorial Migrant Scholarship is available to migrant students who wish to pursue a career in teaching. Students
must also demonstrate financial need. Priority will be given to those with mobility in the last 3 years). For complete details see Mrs. Larin or

STUDENTS:
1. If you have taken a Health Ed class Fall semester or any semester in the past and still have a Health textbook checked out please return it
ASAP to the library or else you will be charged a fine. Hurry go to the library and check in the textbook that you don't need! Thank you
2. BEAUTIFICATION DAY – is on the 22nd of January from 8 a.m. – 12 noon. Come help and assemble tables and clean the school to earn
community service hours. This open to the public, so invite your friends and family. Pizza will be served!
3. Students: Read the Fillmore High School 2010-2011 Discipline Code. Not knowing the discipline code is not an acceptable excuse. You
must read and know the code. Gang Related Offenses = 1) flashing gang signs, 2) yelling gang names/slogans, 3) gang graffiti on
books/notebooks or other possessions, 4) exposing gang related tattoos. First offense is a 3-day suspension & notification of parents.
Second offense is a 5-day suspension & notification of proper authorities. Third offense is a 5-day suspension & notification of proper

1. The yearbook staff would like to do a celebrity look-alike page. If you know of someone on campus (student or staff
