PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: January 24, 1848 - Gold was first discovered in California, in Sutter's mill. When President Polk announced the
news in December, the gold rush began.
LUNCH: Teriyaki chicken, white rice, steamed broccoli, fruit.
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS SOCCER - HOME w/MALIBU. JV game begins at 4:30PM, Varsity follows at 6PM.
2. PHYSICALS FOR SPRING SPORTS (swim, track, baseball, softball, boys volleyball and boys golf) will be given at the Fillmore
Medical Clinic on the following dates: FOR GIRLS - Tuesday, January 25th from 3:30-4:00PM / FOR BOYS - Tuesday, February
1st from 3:30-4:00PM Please see Lynn in the Student Store for an Athletic Packet prior to going for your physical.
CLUBS:
1. Prayer Club will meet tomorrow at lunch in room 2. We welcome everyone!
2. MENTOR PROGRAM: No lunch meeting today. After school mentoring at Sespe. Congratulations: Naomi Aguilar and Juan Ortiz our
Mentors of the Wk.
SENIORS:
1. T.A.’s - You must return your TA contracts to Mrs. Green right away, or you can not be added to the roll and receive credit.
2. The SENIOR CLASS PICTURE will be taken in the gym TODAY at 12:00pm. Please wear your senior t-shirt or a solid black (appropriate
for school) t-shirt. You must be on time for the picture. Also, any student who makes an inappropriate gesture in the picture will be charged
to have the picture corrected. All debts must be cleared in order to receive your diploma.
3. There are ten spots available for the first ten seniors who bring in their baby pictures. This is your absolute last chance to get your
baby picture in the yearbook. If you have already submitted your baby picture, go check it out on the windows of the Student Store. And if
you haven’t already, “like” us on Facebook so we can keep you updated on the yearbook.
4. GRAD NITE LIVE – Tickets for the Central Station Fundraiser are available from Jaci Avila in the Attendance Office.

Seniors:
• FILLMORE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION – applications are available from Isela Larin in the College and Career
Center. They are to be returned to the alumni office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 25th. Mark Ortega will
be here sometime this month to discuss the scholarships with seniors. Watch for more news in the bulletin.
• Best Buy is offering a scholarship to students in grades 9-12 who have a 2.5 GPA or higher, are actively involved in community service or
work experience, and plan to enroll in an accredited two or four year college, university, or vocational/technical school. You must apply

• Buenaventura Phi Delta Kappa is offering a scholarship to students who plan to pursue a career in public education. Deadline is Feb 1st.

STUDENTS:
1. The Freshmen class is selling Valentine bracelets for $1.00. Buy one for your sweetheart or even for yourself. Sales will be going on
January 21 – February 14. Supplies are limited. Get yours today!
2. FOUND – girls ring with stone found in the library. Identify and claim from Mrs. Ramirez or Ms. Hoffman.
3. Students: It is very important that you understand that the Fillmore Unified School District is committed to eliminating sexual harassment or
sexual battery of any student by an employee, student, or other person, from all schools and facilities within the district. Sexual harassment
or battery is improper, immoral, illegal, and will not be tolerated within the district. This policy is implemented to inform both students and
personnel as to what sexual harassment/battery is and what procedures are to be followed in dealing with sexual harassment/battery within

PARENTS: There will be two ZANGLE PARENT CONNECTION meetings on Monday, January 24. One will be at 7:30 a.m. and the other at
6:00 p.m. in the High School Library. Mr. Wilber will explain how to use Parent Connection to see your child’s attendance, grades and daily
classroom assignments.
