PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: January 28, 1986 - U.S. shuttle Challenger exploded 72 seconds after liftoff,
killing all seven crew members aboard, including school teacher Christa McAuliffe.
LUNCH: Sandwich, potato chips, lettuce/tomato/pickle, fruit.
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS BASKETBALL - HOME w/SANTA CLARA. Frosh/Soph game begins at 4 PM, JV game at
5:30PM, Varsity follows at 7PM.
2. BOYS SOCCER - AWAY @ SANTA CLARA. Varsity game begins at 4 PM, JV follows at
2:30PM. Team is excused from class at 12:05 PM, Bus will depart FHS at 12:30PM.
3. PHYSICALS FOR SPRING SPORTS will be given at the Fillmore Medical Clinic FOR BOYS -
FEBRUARY 1ST from 3:30-4:00PM Please see Lynn in the Student Store for an Athletic Packet
prior to going for your physical.
CLUBS:
1. BAND CLUB – meeting TODAY at lunch in front of the band room. Be on time!
2. MENTOR PROGRAM: Monday lunch meeting Rm. 49. Guest speaker -learn how you can get paid for good grades -for students that
qualify. Sespe mentoring after school.
3. FHS Ambassadors (UC Ambassadors): There will be a club meeting in Room 61 at lunch on Tuesday, February 1st to discuss the
upcoming AVID Conference and Higher Education Week. See you then! Mrs. Palacio and Mrs. Sebek
SENIORS:
1. OFF CAMPUS REMINDER – Please go over your Off Campus Contract. Your off-campus permit can be revoked for 8 weeks for 3
tardies in one period and/or a truancy in any class!
2. GRAD NITE LIVE – Tickets for the Central Station Fundraiser are available from Jaci Avila in the Attendance Office.

• FILLMORE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION – applications are available from Isela Larin in the College and Career Center. They are to be returned to the
alumni office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 25th. Mark Ortega will be here sometime this month to discuss the scholarships with seniors.

FRESHMEN:
1. Listen up Freshmen….we need a new ASB senator. Our deadline is on Monday, Jan. 31st. Don’t forget to get an application in the Student
Store. Fill it out, and take it back to the Student Store.
STUDENTS:
1. AFTER SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES TO EARN CREDITS -
• If you have a job, students are allowed & encouraged to enroll in DIVO – Work Experience.
• If you like Video Productions, the class is being held Wednesday 5 - 9:30
• If you like Auto, the ROP Auto Service class is held Tuesday 3:30-8:30
2. 7ththru12th graders are now required to get a whooping cough shot before starting the 2011-2012 school year. Call your doctor
today & make an appointment to get your required vaccines ASAP.
3. PROM/ATHLETIC INFO – ALL AWOLS must be made up and detentions served before you will be allowed to attend the PROM and/or
Athletic Events.
4. LATE START on Friday. TARDY BELL rings at 8:35. You need to be IN YOUR SEAT by the time the tardy bell rings.
5. Get your stories and poems together and enter the Soroptimist Writing Contest. 1st place receives $50, 2nd place $35, and 3rd place
$25. Please submit all writing entries to Mr. Bauer, Rm. 32, no later than Friday, Feb. 18. There will also be an awards dinner for the
winners. Good luck and good writing!
6. LIONS CLUB SPEAKER CONTEST – all entrants must attend a meeting on Thursday Feb. 2nd at lunch or after school n the drama room or
call 524-4839. Get help and get your questions answered.
7. Yearbook info - You may order personalization for your yearbook for only $5. Have your name and/or icons on the cover of your yearbook
and help prevent loss/theft. Order forms are available in the Student Store. Deadline: February 28th at 3:15.
