PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: February 2, 1887 - The first gathering at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsatawney, Pa. to wait for the groundhog's shadow

ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS BASKETBALL - HOME w/NORHOFF. Frosh/Soph Game begins at 4PM, JV at 5:30PM and Varsity follows at 7PM.
2. BOYS SOCCER - HOME w/CARPINTERIA. JV Game begins at 4:30PM, Varsity follows at 6PM.
CLUBS:
1. MENTOR PROGRAM: San Cayetano mentoring after school meet in Rm 17 by 3:15pm.
2. Interested in making a difference in our community?? Become an advocate for Social Justice!!! Join a Social Justice Committee at the
One Step a la Vez Center. We meet weekly to address some of our communities compelling issues and take action!!! Committees include
transportation, AB540, Diversity Club, & Community Food Distribution. We are located at 600 Second Street. For more information stop by

SENIORS:
1. DISNEYLAND TRIP - This year’s cost to go on the Disneyland Trip is $57.00. Start early by paying for your ticket or you can make
payments to the Student Store. Permission Slips are available in the Student Store and must be completed prior to the trip.
2. OFF CAMPUS REMINDER – Please go over your Off Campus Contract. Your off-campus permit can be revoked for 8 weeks for 3 tardies
in one period and/or a truancy in any class!
3. GRAD NITE LIVE – Tickets for the Central Station Fundraiser are available from Jaci Avila in the Attendance Office.

• FILLMORE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION – applications are in the College and Career Center. They are to be returned to
the alumni office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 25th.
STUDENTS:
1. Pennies for Patients fundraising drive – Bring your pennies (or any coins) to your 3rd period classroom. The class that raises the most
money will receive a BBQ lunch put on by the Sheriff and Fire departments!
2. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
3. LIONS CLUB SPEAKER CONTEST – all entrants must attend a meeting on Thursday Feb. 3rd at lunch or after school n the drama room
or call 524-4839. Get help and get your questions answered.
4. Get your stories and poems together and enter the Soroptimist Writing Contest. 1st place receives $50, 2nd place $35, and 3rd place
$25. Please submit all writing entries to Mr. Bauer, Rm. 32, no later than Friday, Feb. 18. There will also be an awards dinner for the
winners. Good luck and good writing!
5. Yearbook info - You may order personalization for your yearbook for only $5. Have your name and/or icons on the cover of your yearbook
and help prevent loss/theft. Order forms are available in the Student Store. Deadline: February 28th at 3:15.
6. FOUND – girl’s prescription glasses in a case. See Lynn in the Student Store for more info.
7. Renaissance t-shirt – If you did not get your t-shirt last semester, stop by the Student Store on THURSDAY & FRIDAY at lunch. See your
agenda book to make sure that you qualify.
8. 7th - 12th graders are now required to get a whooping cough shot before starting the 2011-2012 school year. Call your doctor today & make
an appointment to get your required vaccines ASAP.
• Freshmen are selling VALENTINE BRACELETS - $1.00.
• ART CLUB will be selling VALENTINE GRAMS at break in the Art Room and in the quad at lunch. Buy them now and
they will be delivered on February 11th.
• AVID Club is selling Valentine’s Chocolate roses every day at lunch in the quad. It’s the perfect gift for that special someone! Roses
are 2 for $1, $3 for half dozen and $6 for a dozen. To purchase, find your favorite AVID student and place an order or place an order at
lunch in the quad. All roses will be delivered on Feb. 10th/11th to your first period class.
