PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: April24, 1800 - Library of Congress was established.
Congratulations to: Michael and David Watson - accepted to Southern Virginia University.
LUNCH: Chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, corn/biscuit.
ATHLETICS:
1. VARSITY BASEBALL - HOME w/Malibu. Game begins at 3:30PM.
2. JV BASEBALL - AWAY @ Malibu. Game begins at 3:30PM. Team is excused
from class at 12:45PM and will depart FHS at 1:00PM.
CLUBS:
1. Mentor Program: Guest speaker Monday at lunch, Rm. 46 -snack provided. Meeting
will start at 12:25pm be on time. Bring your cover letter & resume.
2. Mentor Program: HS Big's Appreciation permission slips are due. Only Rm. for 50!
3. S Club – meeting Monday at lunch in Rm. 45. New members are welcome. Bring
your ideas for the club t-shirt. Special thanks to Mr. Moreno for chaperoning the
Human Trafficking field trip! “You’re Perfect, Mr. Moreno”.
SENIORS:
1. Ventura College Assessments - April 29th at 7:55 a.m. See Mrs. Larin in the College
and Career Center.
2. A Moorpark College representative will be in the College and Career Center on
Monday, April 27th during lunch to speak to students who are attending Moorpark
during the summer or fall semester.
3. Seniors: Please check which teacher you are assigned to during testing next week.
Tuesday you will report to the teacher/room you are assigned to. These lists are
posted in the attendance office window, in the library window (just outside the library
front door) and in these teachers’ rooms: Schieferle, Dann, Dollar, Quiroz, Hoffman,
Sebek, Beylik, K. Tafoya. Your assigned teacher will explain the week’s schedule but
you will need to bring any work given to you by your teachers each day because you
will not be allowed to go get things from your locker during testing hours.
SCHOLARSHIPS: A list of ALL scholarships is available in the COLLEGE &
CAREER CENTER
• The Fillmore Lions -deadline is May 1st. See Mrs. Larin for an application.
STUDENTS:
1. May 5th is the registration deadline for the June 6th SAT reasoning and subject
tests. You can register on-line at www.collegeboard.com. See your counselor
for more information.
2. If you are interested in taking the Ventura College Landscaping class next year with Mr. Richter, sign up to see your counselor to register.
3. LOST – a pair of frameless prescription glasses. The owner would greatly appreciate it if you turned them in at the Student Store if you find
them. Thanks!
4. Miss Fillmore/Miss Teen Fillmore Pageant. Saturday, April 25th @ 6:30PM. For tickets please see Lynn in the Student Store. Limited number
of tickets available. Ticket Cost: $15.00
5. PROM TICKETS – tickets will go on sale Wednesday, April 22nd. Couple tickets are $80 and singles are $45. Prices will increase the following
week.
6. You may not attend Prom if you have outstanding Saturday School assignments or detentions. See your Assistant Principal for more
information.
7. FFA is sponsoring a blood drive on Thurs. May 14th . If you are 16 years of age and older you may donate. Pick up parent permission slip in
the health office and return to Janice by Friday May 8th
8. Sadie Hawkins pictures and softball pictures are in and can be picked up at KSSP Photographic Studios (330 Central Ave.) starting Friday, April
24.
STAR TEST DAYS Tuesday, April 28 – Friday, May 1 – Minimum Days – School dismissed at 12:10. ALL students need to report at 7:55.
Test taking tips: Don’t panic over questions you don’t know the answers to. Take a deep breath and go on. Come back to the questions that are
more difficult. Read ALL the answers BEFORE making a choice. If two answers are opposites, only one is generally correct. Don’t leave answers
blank. If you are out of time, guess. Ask yourself, “What is the question asking me?”

1. You may have noticed the Grad Nite Live Donation cans around the school. The Grad Nite Live committee needs to collect them by May 8th.

SENIORS – THE CAMPUS WILL BE CLOSED AT
LUNCH – NO OFF CAMPUS ON FRIDAY. Bring
your lunch or money for lunch in the cafeteria.
If you DO NOT have a 5th or 6th period, you may
leave after 4th period (Mr. Torres will be at the 2nd St.
gate to check you out); however, if you would like to
stay for the celebration, you need to sit at the tables
near the Attendance Office until the celebration
starts. Once you leave, you will not be allowed to reenter
the campus.
