ATHLETICS:
1. BASEBALL – HOME w/ LA MARSHALL. Varsity Game begins at 3PM. Team is excused from class at 1:30PM.
2. BASEBALL - AWAY @ LA MARSHALL. JV game begins at 3PM. Boys are excused at 12:45PM, but will depart FHS at 1PM.
3. SWIMMING - AWAY w/ LITTLEROCK & IMMANUEL CHRISTIAN. Meet begins at 3PM. Team is excused from class at 12PM, bus will
depart FHS at 12:30PM
4. The following Soccer Players need to turn-in their uniforms: Jose Mariscal, Diego Ramírez, Anthony Chavez, (JV Uniform), Damian Lepe, Jose
Garcia
5. Varsity Girls basketball players must turn in all uniforms game and practice plus blue books this week ASAP. Varsity and JV Girls
Basketball Athletes the 2009 Awards BBQ will be held on Monday 3/16/09 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria. Varsity girls and JV
girls please tell Coach Burns and Coach Tafoya what you and your parents prefer Tri-Tip or Chicken. We need to know ASAP so we can order
the food.
CLUBS:
1. MESA – MESA Day is tomorrow! Bus leaves for UCSB at 6:15 a.m.!!! Make sure you bring your completed permission slips!
2. Mentor Program: Officers lunch meeting Friday, March 6th in Rm 17. There will be no Mon. lunch meetings or after school mentoring during
"Black Out Week", March 9 - 20. Study hard and do your best. Mentoring will resume on Mon. March 23.
SENIORS:
1. Seniors sweatshirts are in! Pick up in the health office BEFORE school or at LUNCH.
2. Yearbook still needs your senior wills. Email them to hcasanave@fillmore.k12.ca.us by this Friday to ensure a space in the yearbook. Wills are
$20 for 200 words or fewer.
3. If you requested transcripts from Debby, PLEASE to pick them up. Debby is getting buried in transcripts on her desk!

JUNIORS:
1. If you are interested in attending a summer program at Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Notre Dame, or Yale
University, please see your counselor or Mrs. Larin for complete details. Deadline is March 31st.
STUDENTS:
1. NO COLLABORATION ON 3/11 & 3/18. March 11th – 13th – QUARTER FINALS; March 18th –
CAHSEE testing. School begins at 7:50 on those Wednesdays. REGULAR BELL SCHEDULE
for QUARTER FINALS – Wed., March 11th – ALL OTHERS; Thurs., March 12th – ENGLISH/FOREIGN
LANGUAGE; Fri., March 13th – SCIENCE/MATH.
2. All BATTLE OF THE SEXES events have been moved to the week of March 23 – 27. Events including Food Day, Powderpuff football
and the rally will be held on March 27th. Sadie Hawkins Dance will be on March 28th.
3. SADIE HAWKINS – March 28th. Tickets will go on sale March 16. Price is $20 per couple or $15 for single ticket. Ladies don’t forget to ask
that special someone?
4. If you know of a band that would like to perform during the Renaissance Festival in April, contact Noah Aguirre ASAP.
5. Volunteers wanted: San Cayetano is looking for High School Student volunteers to help with our Family Science Night on March 24th. We
need help starting at 5:30PM and ending at 8:00PM. There will be several activities you can help with, and this can be used as community
service hours. Please call Mary or Martha at San Cayetano to sign up, 524-6040. We are also pre-selling tickets for the Space Shuttle Café that
will be selling dinners that night.
6. The Grizzly Youth Academy, AT THIS TIME IS FREE to male and female students, ages 16 through 18 ½, is NOW accepting student
applications for the Summer Semester. The program is for students who are behind in credits, have a low G.P.A or want to get away from
negative influences. Students must turn in a completed STUDENT APPLICATION and MENTOR APPLICATION to Ms. Norma in the
Attendance Office AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to make sure you get a spot. Get going now before another semester digs you in further behind in
credits!
Students and Teachers:
1. In a couple of weeks, on March 17 and 18, 2009, the CAHSEE Exit Exam will be given to all 10th and to Juniors who have NOT passed one or
both exam sections. Students, are reminded to take this exam seriously. Make sure you are reviewing your Math and English class notes,
doing all your homework and asking your teacher(s) for help on areas you do not clearly understand. Additional information can be obtained
from the California Department of Education CAHSEE site to receive information on: Pre-released CAHSEE questions, study guides,
frequently asked questions, accommodations and modifications for special needs students, program resources and general test results:
