1. Mentor meeting is cancelled today for Black Out week. Study Hard!
2. ATTENTION UC AMBASSADORS - meeting Tuesday (12/9) at lunch in room 61 to discuss upcoming events (for community service hours!) including: After School Tutoring, partnering with MESA, and A-G Workshops. Looking forward to seeing you there! Mrs. Palacio and Ms. Moriarty
3. MECHA CLUB – lunch meeting Tuesday & Thursday.
4. Poetry Club – meeting Friday at lunch in Rm. 18.

STUDENTS:
1. Are you interesting in taking College Classes this spring? Don’t wait until the last minute. Sign up to see your counselor now! A representative from Ventura College will be in the College and Career Center on Thursday, December 11th.
2. ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTION – Every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in Rm. 49
3. Enter the Lions’ Club speech contest and win $50 with a chance to win $21,250. Top is “Water – Will California Be Left High and Dry?” Open to all students. To enter see Mr. Overton or call Bill Edmonds – 524-4839.

5. One Step Center - On Monday the 8th there is a free cooking class at 3:30 and a Stress Group for teens at 4:30

STUDENTS & STAFF:
1. "Little Paws" is a dog rescue in Fillmore. They pay more than $1,200.00 a month to feed over 90 lost and abandoned dogs. Please "Pitch in for Pets." Donate in your 3rd period class and in room 19. Thank you. Chris Fernandez
2. The Annual Canned Food Drive has begun. Start collecting cans, and bring them to your 2nd period class. 1st & 2nd place classes earn a Wood Ranch lunch, and 3rd place class will get El Pescador burritos.
STUDENTS & PARENTS:
1. The district office has asked us to remind you that we only have a 2 week break during the Winter Holiday. Please remind your parents that we expect you all to stay in school until the final day – December 19th. We will continue to remind you at times during the rest of the year. This generally is a time when we have a high absence rate, and we are hoping that by reminding your families early, they will plan to postpone any holiday travel until after December 19th. Thank you.
