PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: May 18, 1896 - The Supreme Court affirmed racial segregation in Plessy v. Ferguson as "separate but equal."
LUNCH: Macaroni and cheese, broccoli, garlic bread.
ATHLETICS:
1. Football Players – all JV & Varsity players MANDATORY practice TODAY, Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30. Meet on the field.
2. ATHLETES / PEP SQUAD: PHYSICALS - Dr. Bautista will be offering FREE PHYSICALS for Athletes and Pep Squad Members that
need one to participate in summer practice. This is also a good time for Athletes participating in any Fall Sport, (Football, Cross Country, Girls
Volleyball & Girls Golf). Physicals will be given WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH beginning at 3:30PM.
CLUBS:
1. Mentor Program: Lunch meeting -Last meeting for this school year. Come celebrate!
Mentor Program: Final week of mentoring. Sespe -today after school.
2. ART CLUB – meeting Tuesday at lunch in Rm. 34.
SENIORS:
1. Deadlines for paper work is approaching. Grad Nite Live is due this Friday on May 15th (orange) – IT’S LATE! Disneyland is due Friday, May
22nd (yellow). Mr. Wilber’s letter is due by May 29th (blue). If you plan to attend the service at St. Francis Church, turn those slips in by Friday,
May 22nd.
2. Mother – Son banquet is this Monday May 18th 6 pm at the Memorial Bldg. Mother – Daughter banquet will be on Thurs. May 21st 6pm at
the Memorial Bldg. RSVP to Rm. 65 or Janice by this Friday.
3. KSSP Studios is still doing Cap & Gown pictures. There is still time to get you pictures before graduation. Contact the studio for an
appointment. 524-6400.
4. A financial aid representative from Ventura College will be available in the old career center on Monday, May 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If
you need to see them or submit paperwork, please see Mrs. Larin to sign up. If you do not sign up, the representatives will be unable to assist
you.
Juniors:
1. The Arch Bearer list is now posted in the Student Store. Thank you to all of the Junior Class members (even those that were not selected) for
you help with the activities throughout the year.
2. If you signed up for AP Government and/or AP Econ for next year, there is a mandatory
meeting with Ms Hoffman that will take about ten minutes. Choose one of three times to show up:
Tues, May 19, 12:30 – Room 60 (OK to bring lunch) Tues, May 19, 3:15 – in library
Wed, May 20th – 3:15 – in library
Sophomores:
1. All sophomores signed up for AP U.S. History next year – please attend a MANDATORY
meeting on Wednesday, right after school in Rm. 62. Thank you.
STUDENTS:
1. Night School (with Mrs. Ashim and Ms. Schieferle) will end Thursday, May 21st. No work will
be accepted after that date. If you started a class and have not finished, take this opportunity to
complete your credits.
2. Ventura College has added a Health and Wellness class that will meet at FHS next fall semester.
The class is HED V93 and it will be held Wednesday nights from 6 – 8:50 p.m. See your
counselor for a registration packet.
3. Art Club is selling autograph books for $5. See any art club member or come to room 34 to buy
one.
Students and Faculty:
1. ASB CONVENTION - Monday, May 18th from 8 – 12. Students may be called out of class at various times to come to the convention.
2. OPEN HOUSE – Tuesday, May 19th – 6:30 – 8:00
3. ASSEMBLY - Wednesday, May 20th. ½ of the school will attend from 8:55- 10:05 and the other ½ will attend from 10:20 – 11:30. See
schedule above.
