PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: October 27, 1787 - The first of the Federalist Papers, which called for the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, was published.

ATHLETICS:
1. GIRLS GOLF @ Victoria Lakes for League Finals. Match begins at 2:30PM. The following girls are excused from class at 12:15PM. Erica Rodriguez, Lorraine Duran, Lilah Duran, Bailey Pina, Kim Ruiz & Samantha Wokal GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!

3. WINTER SPORT ATHLETES - Athletes are planning on participating in a WINTER/SPRING Sport and are still in need of a physical, Dr. Bautista will be offering FREE Physicals on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29TH beginning at 3:30PM.
4. WINTER SPORTS CLEARENCE NIGHT – will be held WENESDAY, OCTOBER 29TH beginning at 6:30PM in the Gym. This is for Winter Athletes and their Parents.
5. BASEBALL - Any boys wishing to participate in JV / Varsity Baseball, please sign-up in the student store.
6. WRESTLERS - Anyone interested in Wrestling, Coach Calderon would like to meet with you on Wednesday during lunch in the wrestling room.
7. Boys’ Basketball: Mandatory 5 minute meeting for all boys interested in playing basketball this year at the start of lunch on Tuesday, October 28th in room 50. Be prompt! Questions, see Coach Sebek in room 50.”
CLUBS:
1. FASHION CLUB – meets every Wednesday & Friday at lunch in Rm. 34.
2. UC Ambassador Club - There will be a meeting on Tuesday, October 28th at lunch in Room 61. We will be discussing next week’s “Higher Education Week” activities and an exciting opportunity to start earning community service hours. We hope to see everyone there (especially our new sophomore and junior class members). Mrs. Palacio and Miss Moriarty
3. Mentor Program: Monday Mentor Lunch Meeting Rm. 49. Please be prompt.
4. Mentor Program: Sespe Mentors today after school.
5. MECHA CLUB – meeting at lunch on Tuesday to talk about field trip to Olvera St.
6. ART CLUB – Important meeting on Tuesday at lunch. All art club and art students attending the Olvera St. field trip must attend this meeting. Bring your signed permission slips.
SENIORS:
1. A step by step UC application workshop will be held after school on Monday, 10/27/08 in the College and Career Center (Rm. 9).
STUDENTS:
1. Library is open before school on Wednesdays with instructional assistants available to help with homework.
2. FRIDAY FOOTBALL - This Friday Fillmore High School will host the 98th meeting between Santa Paula and Fillmore. This time honored tradition is anticipated by both cities as they join together yearly for this long awaited event. Due to the fact that this year it falls on Halloween, anyone dressed in costumes that are “Middle School Age” and above WILL NOT be allowed into the game.
3. BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY – If you don’t have an ASB Sticker, Pre-Sale Tickets are available at the Student Store for this week’s game. Adults $7, Students & Children $4 and Seniors $3.
4. A new DRIVER’S ED class has begun. If you are interested, please report to Rm. 62 at 7:00 a.m. The first 30 students will be admitted. See your counselor for more info.
5. ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTION – Every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in Rm. 49. If you have not served your detentions, you will not be allowed to attend the Santa Paula football rally or game. It is your responsibility to make sure that you are not on a detention list.
6. November 5th is the registration deadline for the December 6th SAT reasoning and subject tests. You can register on-line at www.collegeboard.com. See your counselor for more information.
7. November 7th is the registration deadline for the December 13th ACT tests. You can register on-line at www.actstudent.org. See your counselor for more information.
8. San Cayetano School is looking for High School student Volunteers for their Fall Carnival. The Carnival is Thursday October 30th from 3:00 (set up) to 8:00. If any student would like to volunteer their time, call Martha Hope at 524-8142 during school hours.
9. University of Notre Dame Information Program: Monday, October 27, 2008 at 7 p.m. at St. Bonaventure High School – Rooms 607 and 608 3167 Telegraph Road, Ventura
10. Attention Fillmore and Piru Boys! There will be an open house at the Boy Scout House at the east end of Main Street from 6 to 7 PM on Tuesday, October 28. See pictures of our recent camping trip to Wishon Valley in the Sierras. Learn about Winter Camp, backpacking, this year's new summer camp location, and various one day trips, projects, games and races the scouts participate in. Refreshments will be served. 11. CLASS RINGS - Jostens will be here to deliver class rings on Friday, October 31st during break and at lunch to the students who bought them at the end of August.
