PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: September 8, 1974 - President Gerald Ford gave former President Nixon a full pardon for all federal crimes he may have committed while he was in office.

ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS BASKETBALL - Mandatory boys' basketball meeting for all levels Monday, September 8th at the beginning of lunch in room 50.
2. ATHLETES: Remember you are not allowed to participate in any FALL SPORT until you have been CLEARED and your PARTICIPATION FEES have been paid.
CLUBS:
1. MENTOR PROGRAM – Lunch meeting TODAY in Rm. 49.
2. Relay for Life – any student in INTERACT CLUB wanting to participate in the Fillmore-Piru Relay For Life on Sept. 13 and 14, there is a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9th in the Health Office during lunch.
3. AVID CLUB: Meets Tuesdays at Lunch in Rm. 59. We will be discussing upcoming field trips and fundraising.
4. ART CLUB – meeting Tuesday at lunch in Rm. 34
5. UC Ambassador Club: Officers meeting Wednesday, September 10th at lunch in Room 61. See you then! Mrs. Palacio and Ms. Moriarty
6. ANIME CLUB – it’s not too late to join. Meetings every Thursday at lunch in Rm. 34. Bring your lunch and ideas.
STUDENTS:
1. Administrative detention – Every Tuesday & Thursday – in Rm. 49 at 3:15. Students that have outstanding DETENTIONS will not be allowed to attend the football game on Friday, September 5th. Please be responsible and serve your detentions.
2. September 9th is the registration deadline for the October 4th SAT reasoning and subject tests. You can register on-line at www.collegeboard.com. See your counselor for more information.
3. September 19th is the registration deadline for the October 25th ACT test. You can register on-line at www.actstudent.org. See your counselor for more information.
4. ANY MIGRANT STUDENT WHO IS INTERESTED IN RECOVERING CREDITS THROUGH THE P.A.S.S. PROGRAM, PLEASE SEE YOUR COUNSELOR OR MRS. IBARRA IN THE OFFICE. CLASS WILL BE SATURDAY'S FROM 9A-1P IN MR. ANDERSEN'S RM. 62.
5. MAKE-UP PICTURES - The photographer will be here Wednesday, September 10th from 7:30AM until 11:AM for Picture Make-Ups and Retakes. Picture Packets will be available in the Student Store. Don’t forget that it will be a Collaboration Day, so if you did not get your picture taken at registration, please report to the Student Store BEFORE school.
6. PE CLOTHES: The Student Store has received their new shipment of PE Clothes. PE Shirts = $8.00 PE Shorts = $10.00.
7. BEGINNING MONDAY at Nutrition Break – you will have to purchase your food items at the back windows. There have been too many thefts and vandalisms in the cafeteria line at break. Sorry.
8. Tickets for the Homecoming Dance will go on sale Sept. 17th! Be the first one in line! The dance will be on Saturday, Sept. 27th from 8 p.m. – midnight. This year it will be semi-formal, so get dress up! Tickets wil be $3.00 with an ASB sticker or $5.00 without.
9. Students: It is very important that you understand that you cannot have any kind of knife, a real or pretend gun, paint ball guns, or any other kind of weapon at school. You cannot make any kind of a threat to a student or staff member. You also cannot have or be under the influence of any drug or have drug paraphernalia at school. Your school and our school board have ZERO tolerance for these things. Students have been expelled for having these items at school. No excuse for not knowing that these things are not allowed at school will be accepted. Take this seriously and help keep your school safe for you and everyone. 1. Calling all clubs, students and staff: If you would like to participate in the Homecoming Parade on September 26th or have any ideas for entrees, contact ASB as soon as possible.
STAFF:
1. STAFF ID’s -This year Mr. Wilber has asked that all FHS Staff have ID’s. Please make time on September 10th between 7:30AM – 11AM to stop-by the Student Store to have your ID Pictures taken.
