PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: April 2, 1917 - President Woodrow Wilson asked Congress to declare war against Germany.
LU NCH: Spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic bread, salad/dressing.
ATHLETICS:
1. SOFTBALL - HOME w/La Reina. Games begin at 3:30PM. Softball Players are excused from class at 2:00PM.
2. GOLF - AWAY @ Nordhoff. Match begins at 1:30PM. Team is excused from class at 11:20AM and will depart FHS at 11:30AM.
3. The following Soccer Player need to turn-in his uniform: Jose Mariscal.
4. ALL STUDENTS: Get Community Service hours or work off a detention by volunteering to help with timing at the FHS Swim Team swim
meets. Please see Coach Cindy Blatt on Thurs., April 2nd at the pool beginning at 3:15 PM. Enter the pool from the First Street entrance.
CLUBS:
1. Joint Leadership Retreat for the Mentor and One Step Center members on Friday April 10th.
2. Prayer Club meets today in Room 2. Give us a try! Bring your lunch.
3. Band meeting at lunch on Thurs., April 2 in room 19. Bring your lunch.
SENIORS:
1. If you are a senior who has been accepted to a college in Northern California and have not visited the campus, the One Step Center is planning
a visitation trip. Please see Hilary or pick up a information letter in rm. 17
SCHOLARSHIPS: All information in COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER
• Rotary Club of Fillmore Sun Risers - Deadline is April 1st.
• Rotary Club of Fillmore-Noontime - Deadline is April 1st.
• Fillmore Women’s Service Club - Deadline is April 1st.

• Telesis Community Credit -www.telesiscu.org. Deadline is April 1st.
• Japanese American Citizens League - Deadline is April 1st.
10th and 11TH grade students- Procter & Gamble Company is offering the “Resident Scholar Program” to minority students seeking careers and
education in science or engineering. Students will have the opportunity to interact with minority scientists and engineers across the company. This
is a one week summer program. For complete details, see Mrs. Larin as soon as possible. The deadline is fast approaching!
9th, 10th, and 11th graders - If you are planning to take any math or English classes at Ventura College during the summer, you must take the
assessments. A representative from Ventura College will be here on Friday, April 17th to administer both the math and English assessments. If you
are interested in taking them, please see Mrs. Larin in the College and Career Center.
STUDENTS:
1. Spring Insight at UCSB is Saturday, 4/4/09 - Showcases what UCSB has to offer to Fillmore High School students and their families. See
Mrs. Palacio in the College and Career Center for further details and to pick up a permission slip.
2. FASHION SHOW - the Fashion Club is hosting the 2009 FHS Fashion Show on Fri., April 3rd from 6:30 – 8:00 in the gym. Tickets are $3.
Proceeds will help fund a scholarship for a senior!
3. The 11th Annual Arts Show will be held on Tuesday, April 14th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Memorial Building. Art, photo and woodshop
projects will be on display and to purchase. There will also be music and drama performances. Come and support the Arts!
4. LETTERMAN’S JACKETS - Dagen Sales will be here TODAY to take orders for Letterman’s Jackets. A $50.00 deposit is due at the time the
jacket is ordered.
5. Attention Educational Talent Search (ETS) students-This is a reminder to please submit your fieldtrip applications to Mrs. Larin by Thursday,
April 2, 2009. The fieldtrip is taking place on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.
6. WE WILL NOT HAVE SATURDAY P.A.S.S. CLASS THIS COMING SAT. APRIL 4th, @ THE MIDDLE SCHOOL. IF YOU NEED TO TAKE A
TEST YOU CAN TAKE IT W/MS. SCHIEFERLE OR W/MRS. FRUTOS @ SIERRA HS THIS WEEK. CALL THEM TO MAKE
ARRANGEMENTS. SATURDAY SCHOOL P.A.S.S. WILL RESUME APRIL 18.

8. ROP, Computer Business & Software students going off campus: April 13 – May 21, Monday through Thursday, the students (all seniors) listed
have qualified to serve a two-hour internship in a downtown business. Per. 3 & 4 students will leave campus at the beginning of break and
