PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: December 4, 1816 - James Monroe of Virginia was elected (by electors) the fifth president of the United States.

ATHLETICS:
1. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOOTBALL TEAM for defeating Brentwood Friday, 21-14 and advancing to the CIF Semi-Finals. The next game for the Flashes will be AWAY - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6TH at 7PM against Twentynine Palms.
2. VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL - It’s the Annual FILLMORE GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. Flashes play tonight at 7:45PM. Come support your Lady Flashes!!
3. FROSH. & JV BOYS SOCCER - HOME vs. Camarillo. Frosh. Game begins at 5:15PM, JV Boys Follow.
4. GIRLS SOCCER ALL LEVELS - AWAY @ Golden Valley. All Games begin at 3PM. Girls are excused from class at 12:45PM and will depart at 1PM.
5. JV GIRLS BASKETBALL - AWAY @ Santa Paula Tournament. Game begins at 2:30PM. JV Girls are excused from class at 1:00PM to depart at 1:15PM.
6. VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL - AWAY @ the Laguna Blanca Tournament. See Coach Sebek for departure time.

1. MECHA CLUB – meeting Thursday at lunch.
2. ANIME CLUB meeting Thursday at lunch in room 34
3. HIKING CLUB: Mandatory Meeting on Thurs. if you plan on going on Sat. hike to Tar Creek.
4. Mentor Program: Sports Mentors @ lunch -snack provided. Officers meeting Fri. @ lunch Rm. 10.
5. Mentor Program: San Cayetano -Santa Helpers who have been cleared please report to Rm. 10 after lunch.
SENIORS:
1. Seniors: Pick up your senior T-shirts in the Health office before school and during lunch. If you owe $$ pay your money in the student store and bring your receipt to Janice. Last orders are being taken until Wed. at 3 pm. Forms are in the student store.
2. Seniors: Josten’s will be here on Thurs. and Friday during break and at lunch to take orders for cap and gowns and announcements.

STUDENTS:
1. PRE-SALE CIF FOOTBALL TICKETS - On Sale in the Student Store. Adults $8, Students and Children $5
2. Since this will be an AWAY GAME, ASB along with the Booster Club will be providing a “ROOTERS BUS” for students. The cost is $20 per student. The $20 covers your admission to the game and pays for your transportation to and from the game. Seats are limited to the first 14 Students. You must have a “Signed Parental Permission Slip” in order to go. Permission Slips are available at the Student Store. If you need financial assistance, please see Norma Perez-Sandford.
3. ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTION – Every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in Rm. 49
4. The Film Script deadline for the Film Festival has been extended! Now get your application from Mr. Overton, and turn in your finished script by this Friday, Dec. 5th! Get started now to qualify for the $2m500.00 scholarship or one of four brand new laptop computers! See Mr. Overton now!
5. Ventura College will be in the College and Career Center on December 4th and December 11th during lunch to sign up students who are interested in taking college classes in the spring.
6. Enter the Lions’ Club speech contest and win $50 with a chance to win $21,250. Top is “Water – Will California Be Left High and Dry?” Open to all students. To enter see Mr. Overton or call Bill Edmonds – 524-4839.

STUDENTS & STAFF:
1. "Little Paws" is a dog rescue in Fillmore. They pay more than $1,200.00 a month to feed over 90 lost and abandoned dogs. Please "Pitch in for Pets." Donate in your 3rd period class and in room 19. Thank you. Chris Fernandez
STUDENTS & PARENTS:
1. The district office has asked us to remind you that we only have a 2 week break during the Winter Holiday. Please remind your parents that we expect you all to stay in school until the final day – December 19th. We will continue to remind you at times during the rest of the year. This generally is a time when we have a high absence rate, and we are hoping that by reminding your families early, they will plan to postpone any holiday travel until after December 19th. Thank you.
