PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: March 19, 1920 - The United States Senate voted down signing the Treaty of Versailles for the second time.
Congratulations to: Miguel Ochoa - accepted to CSU Northridge, CSU Fullerton, and UC Davis. Natalie Garnica - accepted to UCSB.
LU NCH: Southwestern wrap, Spanish rice
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - HOME w/ Ojai Valley. Game begins at 4PM.
2. TRACK - AWAY @ Carpinteria. Meet begins at 3:30PM. Team is excused from class at 1:15PM and will depart FHS at 1:30PM.
3. BOY GOLF - AWAY @ Carpinteria. Match begins at 1:30PM. Golf team is excused from class at 10:45 and will depart at 11:00 AM.
4. WRESTLING BANQUET, Tuesday, March 24th at 6:30pm in the Cafeteria. All wrestlers to bring a main and side dish. Call Coach Cal if you
have questions
5. The following Soccer Players need to turn-in their uniforms: Jose Mariscal and Diego Ramírez.
CLUBS:
1. Prayer Club - meeting Thursdays at lunch in Rm. 2.
2. MECHA CLUB - meeting every Thursday at lunch in Rm. 45.
3. Mentor Program: We will be nominating Officer for 2009-10 on Monday, March 23 during our lunch meeting in Rm 49. Get involved run for
office or nominate a friend.
SENIORS:
1. LAST CALL FOR DIPLOMA ORDER – If you don’t turn in your diploma order by WEDNESDAY, Mrs. Lemons will order your diploma with the
name that we have on file.
2. Please let Mrs. Ashim know where you have been accepted to college. This is an exciting time of the year, and we want to share the
information with the bulletin (if you want); and we also want to place your name on the College Board of Fame in the office.
3. Grad Nite Live Yard Sale – April 18th in front of the district office.

• Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund - Deadline is March 31st.
• Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers - Deadline is March 19th.
• Soroptimist of Camarillo- Deadline is March 27th.
• CSUN - Deadline is March 27th.
• VCC Blacks in Government - Deadline is March 28th.
• Ventura Chinese-American Association - Deadline is March 30th.
• Commander William J. Coffey Memorial Scholarship Deadline is
March 30.
10th and 11th graders: The Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project is now accepting applications to their 27th annual week long summer
conference in Sacramento. For complete details, see Mrs. Larin in the College and Career Center. Deadline is April 13th.
9th & 10th graders: The sophomore and junior portrait pages will be displayed on the attendance office windows until Thursday. Please check your
name and picture and see Mrs. Casanave in room 1 if you notice any mistakes.
9-11th grade Students: Over the next two weeks your 3rd period teacher will be reviewing your STAR/CST test performance scores from
2008. They will also work with you to set testing goals for this year’s testing that will begin on April 28th. The goals you set will clarify
what scores you need this year to earn the rewards card that was discussed at the class meetings in February. We also want you to
understand that students who do not perform at the basic proficiency levels may be enrolled in extra reading or math support classes
next school year. Remember that our goal is to hit the 700 API mark- With your help- we can do it!
STUDENTS:
1. Friday, March 20th is MINIMUM DAY – Last day of 3rd Quarter!!!
Unlike the past, WE DO NOT have Spring Break next week (the
week after the end of Quarter). Spring Break is April 6 – 10.
2. The deadline for having your name and/or icons put on your yearbook is Friday, March 20th. Your
name is $5 and each icon is $3. Get the forms and pay in the student store. Yearbooks are $80.
3. SADIE HAWKINS – March 28th. Price is $20 per couple or $15 for single ticket. Ladies don’t forget
to ask that special someone?
4. Any student interested in trying out for the 2009-2010 FHS Pep Squad can pick up an application in
the Student Store. Practice starts March 23rd at 3:15 in front of the high school. Any questions, see
Ms. Tafoya in Rm. 3.
5. Volunteers wanted: San Cayetano is looking for High School Student volunteers to help with their
Family Science Night on March 24th. Start at 5:30PM and end at 8:00PM. Please call Mary or
Martha at San Cayetano to sign up, 524-6040. They are also pre-selling tickets for the Space
Shuttle Café that will be selling dinners that night.
6. March 31st is the registration deadline for the May 2nd SAT reasoning and subject tests. You can register on-line at www.collegeboard.com.
