PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: May 14, 1804 - The Lewis and Clark expedition set out from St. Louis.
LUNCH: Diced turkey & gravy, mashed potatoes, corn/roll.
ATHLETICS:
1. BASEBALL – HOME w/ Oak Park. Games begin at 3:30PM. Teams are excused from class at 2:00PM.
2. SOFTBALL – AWAY @ St. Bonaventure. Games begin at 3:30PM. Teams are excused from class at 1PM and will depart FHS at 1:15PM.
3. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - HOME 1ST CIF Playoff Round TOMORROW at 4PM. COME SUPPORT YOUR FLASHES!
4. FHS Baseball pictures are available for pick-up at the KSSP Studio.
5. ATHLETES / PEP SQUAD: PHYSICALS - Dr. Bautista will be offering FREE PHYSICALS for Athletes and Pep Squad Members that
need one to participate in summer practice. This is also a good time for Athletes participating in any Fall Sport, (Football, Cross Country, Girls
Volleyball & Girls Golf). Physicals will be given WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH beginning at 3:30PM.
CLUBS:
1. Go Green Club – turn in your permission slips to Mr. Richter. There is still room!
2. Mecha Club – important meeting on Thursday at lunch for next year’s officers.
3. Prayer Club – meets Thursday at lunch in Rm. 2.
4. Mentor Program: Sports Mentors Canceled our last meeting will be next week.
Mentor Program: New Officers meeting today -select your position.
5. Art Club - meeting this Friday at lunch. Important information about the Last Blast.
6. Today at the ONE STEP - Are you going to college? Confused about becoming financially independent next year? Come to a workshop today
at 3:30.
SENIORS:
1. Deadlines for paper work is approaching. Grad Nite Live is due this Friday on May 15th (orange). Disneyland is due by next Friday on May 22nd
(yellow). Mr. Wilber’s letter is due by May 29th (blue).
2. Mother – Son banquet is this Monday May 18th 6 pm at the Memorial Bldg. Mother – Daughter banquet will be on Thurs. May 21st 6pm at
the Memorial Bldg. RSVP to Rm. 65 or Janice by this Friday.
3. Don’t forget to dress up this Friday and the theme is “Senior” Citizens Day.
4. KSSP Studios is still doing Cap & Gown pictures. There is still time to get you pictures before graduation. Contact the studio for an
appointment. 524-6400.
5. A financial aid representative from Ventura College will be available in the old career center on Monday, May 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If
you need to see them or submit paperwork, please see Mrs. Larin to sign up. If you do not sign up, the representatives will be unable to assist
you.
Juniors and Seniors:
1. The A&F Scholarship is available to students between the ages of 16 and 30. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay on
one of the two topics below. Your submissions must be sent to them by email at scholarships@abbottandfenner.com. 1) If you could have
lunch with any famous person, either living or dead, whom would you choose and why? Describe your conversation at lunch. 2) When you look
back on your life in thirty years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? Deadline is June 20th. If you have any questions,
see Mrs. Larin in the College and Career Center.
Juniors:
1. If you signed up for AP Government and/or AP Econ for next year, there is a mandatory meeting with Ms Hoffman that will take about ten
minutes. Choose one of three times to show up: Tues, May 19, 12:30 – Room 60 (OK to bring lunch) Tues, May 19, 3:15 – in library
Wed, May 20th – 3:15 – in library
STUDENTS:
1. Night School (with Mrs. Ashim and Ms. Schieferle) will end Thursday, May 21st. No work will be accepted after that date. If you started a
class and have not finished, take this opportunity to complete your credits.
2. FFA Blood Drive - TODAY . TEACHERS - Students will be called out of class at their appointed times with a bright green call slip. Please send
them at their designated time. The blood mobile unit will be in the horseshoe area by the cafeteria.
3. Art Club is selling autograph books for $5. See any art club member or come to room 34 to buy one.
4. PLEASE DO NOT PICK THE DAISIES! We are growing the daisies for graduation and the arches!!!
Students and Faculty:
1. Ms. Hoffman is making a list of AR books to order for NEXT YEAR. If you would like to add a title to the list, or request additional copies of an
existing book, please let her know. You can write your request on the paper posted on her office door in the library.
