PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: May 21, 1881 - Clara Barton founded what became the American Red Cross.
LUNCH: Spaghetti w/meat sauce, garlic break, salad/dressing
ATHLETICS:
1. SWIM TEAM: 1) Turn in all gear/equipment on Thurs. May 21st at 3:10 PM at storage room - north/west corner of gym. 2) Awards Night at
6:00 PM at Galvez home on Friday, May 22nd.
2. Girls Basketball - All Girls interested in playing Basketball next year- MANDATORY meeting Thursday at 12:30 in room 20.
3. Boys Basketball – All boys interested in playing basketball next year – MANDATORY brief meeting on Friday at beginning of lunch in Rm. 52.
4. Football Players – all JV & Varsity players MANDATORY practice Thursday at 3:30. Meet on the field.
5. ALL SPORTS TEAMS – team photos are ready for pickup at KSSP Studios.
CLUBS:
1. Prayer Club – No Prayer Club meeting today. We’ll meet tomorrow, Friday, at lunch in Room 2. This week only.
2. 9th, 10th & 11th graders – INTERACT CLUB – will meet this Friday during lunch in the Health Office to discuss Relay for Life and to elect
officers for next year. All underclassmen are invited to join. Hope to see your there!
SENIORS:
1. YOU CANNOT LEAVE AT LUNCH WITHOUT AN ID CARD!
2. Deadlines for paper work is approaching Disneyland is due Friday, May 22nd (yellow). Mr. Wilber’s letter is due by May 29th (blue). If you plan
to attend the service at St. Francis Church, turn those slips in by Friday, May 22nd. Grad Nite Live papers are overdue! If you plan to go, please
turn your papers in ASAP. After the boat trip you will be treated to breakfast at Carl’s Jr. – Croissant or Sourdough combo or French Toast and
milk, soda, juice or coffee.
3. Mother – Daughter banquet will be TONIGHT- 6pm at the Memorial Bldg. RSVP to Rm. 65 or Janice by this Friday.
STUDENTS:
1. Night School (with Mrs. Ashim and Ms. Schieferle) will end Thursday, May 21st. No work will be accepted after that date.
2. Art Club is selling autograph books for $5. See any art club member or come to room 34 to buy one.
3. Former Piru Students – Piru School needs volunteers for the 2009 Piru Dance Festival, Friday, May 29th. Volunteers are needed from 4 – 6
p.m. to set up, then from 7-9 p.m. to clean up. The Friends of Piru Support Group is offering community service credit. For further information
contact Mr. Pavik at 521-1709. See you there.
4. Ventura College – will have a Health and Wellness class at Fillmore in the fall on Wednesdays from 6-8:50 p.m. See you counselor if you are
interested in taking the course.
5. Grizzly Youth Academy Applicants: This is the LAST call for students with a low GPA (below 2.1) Honest! All spaces are almost taken and
then you won’t have a chance to apply until the January semester. That means your GPA and hopes to graduate with your class will be less.
See Ms. Norma at the latest this week for an application and get yourself back on track to graduate on time with your peers.

1. GOODBYE SENIORS RALLY - Friday, May 22nd – regular rally schedule.
CLASSIFIED STAFF:
1. The ASB class is bringing breakfast burritos and refreshments for all FHS Classified Staff on Friday
morning from 7:45 – 8:30 in the CONFERENCE ROOM.
STUDENTS/FACULTY/PARENTS:
1. Annual is having a fundraiser: old yearbooks are being sold for $20 each!!! (Many editions/years
available.) See Mrs. Casanave in room 1.
2. BASEBALL T-SHIRTS are available in the Student Store. Cost is $12.00.
3. FLASHES BASEBALL HATS are available in the Student Store. Cost is $20.00 Sizes vary and are
limited.
4. Interested in sending “well wishes” to a student or faculty member. For $10.00 your greeting can be
put on the Marquee and ran for one (1) week. If interested please see Lynn in the Student Store. All
greetings must be approved by FHS Administration.
5. The Student Store will be CLOSED on Friday.
Mountain Vista School staff and students would like to thank FHS Senior Jonathan Medrano for
creating a beautiful rose garden at the school. His hard work and dedication to this service project
is greatly appreciated. The rose garden will be enjoyed everyday; this is a wonderful contribution to
our community.
