PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: April 28, 1992 - The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture unveiled its first “food pyramid.”
CONGRATULATIONS TO: Mr. Dollar – Teacher of the Year; Mr. Arguelles – Staff of the Year; Noah Aguirre and Rebeca Herrera – Athletes
of the Year.
LUNCH: Crispy beef taco, lettuce/tomato/cheese, Spanish rice
ATHLETICS:
1. GOLF - HOME w/ Nordhoff. Match begins at 1:30PM. Golf team is excused from class at 12:15PM.
2. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - HOME w/ Laguna Blanca. Match begins at 6:00PM.
3. VARSITY SOFTBALL - AWAY @ Oaks Christian. Game begins at 6:00PM. See Coach Eddie for departure time.
SENIORS:
1. If you signed up to take the Ventura College Assessments on Wednesday, April 29th and the Ventura College Orientation on Friday, May 1st,
please report to your assigned locations, which will be posted on the windows of the College and Career Center and the nurse’s office. Make
sure you show up at 7:55 a.m.
2. Seniors: Tuesday you will report to the teacher/room you are assigned to. These lists are posted in the attendance office window, in the library
window (just outside the library front door) and in these teachers’ rooms: Schieferle, Dann, Dollar, Quiroz, Hoffman, Sebek, Beylik, K. Tafoya.
Your assigned teacher will explain the week’s schedule but you will need to bring any work given to you by your teachers each day because you
will not be allowed to go get things from your locker during testing hours.
SCHOLARSHIPS: A list of ALL scholarships is available in the COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER
1. The Fillmore Lions -deadline is May 1st. See Mrs. Larin for an application.
FRESHMEN:
1. If you turned in your permission slip for Chalking the “F”, please meet in Mr. Vincent’s Rm. 47 at lunch on WEDNESDAY. If you don’t show, you
won’t go!
STUDENTS:
1. ALL 10-11th grade AP students – Mr. Wilber would like to meet with you in the library at 12:15 on WEDNESDAY to
complete your pre-registration form for your AP test(s).
2. May 5th is the registration deadline for the June 6th SAT reasoning and subject tests. You can register on-line at www.collegeboard.com. See
your counselor for more information.
3. Mrs. Byrne’s Geometry students can pick up their extra credit before or after testing or during break in room 52. It is due on Monday May 4th.
4. If you are interested in taking the Ventura College Landscaping class next year with Mr. Richter, sign up to see your counselor to register.
5. FOUND – brown wire rimmed glasses. Identify and claim in the Student Store.
6. PROM TICKETS –Couple tickets are $80 and singles are $45. The Jr./Sr. Prom will be SATURDAY, MAY 9TH at the Ventura Theatre from
8PM-12PM.. Tickets will be on-sale in the Student Store all week after school. Buy your tickets now, because the price will increase next
week.
7. You may not attend Prom if you have outstanding Saturday School assignments or detentions. See your Assistant Principal for more
information.
8. FFA is sponsoring a blood drive on Thurs. May 14th . If you are 16 years of age and older you may donate. Pick up parent permission slip in
the health office and return to Janice by Friday May 8th
9. Sadie Hawkins pictures and softball pictures are in and can be picked up at KSSP Photographic Studios (330 Central Ave.).
STAR TEST DAYS Tuesday, April 28 – Friday, May 1 – Minimum Days – School dismissed at 12:10. ALL students need to report at 7:55.
The busses will pick up at 12:45 on Tuesday – Friday.
