PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: March 17, 1776 - British forces evacuated Boston during the Revolutionary War.
Congratulations to: Jillian Wilber - accepted to UC Irvine. Elizabeth Amezcua - accepted to UC Davis. Katie Talon - accepted to Chapman
College.

ATHLETICS:
1. SOFTBALL - AWAY @ Santa Paula. Games begin at 3:30PM. Girls are excused from class at 1:45PM, and will depart FHS at 2PM.
2. CONGRATULATIONS NATHAN IBARRA…..Nathan broke a 19-year-old Ventura County record with 11 RBIs as Fillmore defeated North
Hollywood, 14-10,
3. CONGRATULATIONS BRAULIO MARTINEZ….. for making ALL-COUNTY as well as being voted MVP – Offensive Player-of-the-Year for
Soccer.
4. The following Soccer Players need to turn-in their uniforms: Jose Mariscal, Diego Ramírez, Anthony Chavez, (JV Uniform), Damian Lepe, Jose
Garcia.
CLUBS:
1. UC Ambassadors! We will meet Tuesday, March 17th at lunch in Room 61 as a follow-up to our fundraising guest speaker. See you then!
2. MECHA CLUB – officer’s meeting after school TODAY.
3. Mentor Program: All Big's who are interested in the CSI Field Trip on April 7th must turn in permission slip (available in Rm 17) by March 27.
Setting is limited so first come will go. Mentor Program: Thanks to all the students that helped paint Rm 17 this weekend. All students are
welcomed to visit our new location -Next to Rm 16 ASB and auto shop.
SENIORS:
1. LAST CALL FOR DIPLOMA ORDER – If you don’t turn in your diploma order by WEDNESDAY, Mrs. Lemons will order your diploma with the
name that we have on file. No more procrastinating!
2. Seniors, start turning in your tickets or money for the Central Station fundraiser to Janice.
3. Please let Mrs. Ashim know where you have been accepted to college. This is an exciting time of the year, and we want to share the
information with the bulletin (if you want); and we also want to place your name on the College Board of Fame in the office.
SCHOLARSHIPS: See list in COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER
SOPHOMORES:
1. your yearbook portrait pages will be displayed on the attendance office windows until Thursday. Check your name and picture and see Mrs.
Casanave in room 1 with any problems.
STUDENTS:
1. NO COLLABORATION ON Wednesday, 3/18 – CAHSEE testing. School begins at 7:50 . This
Friday, March 20th is MINIMUM DAY – Last day of 3rd Quarter!!! Unlike the past, WE DO NOT
have Spring Break next week (the week after the end of Quarter). Spring Break is April 6 – 10.
2. The deadline for having your name and/or icons put on your yearbook is Friday, March 20th. Your name is $5 and each icon is $3. Get the
forms and pay in the student store. Yearbooks are $80.
3. SADIE HAWKINS – March 28th. Tickets will go on sale March 16. Price is $20 per couple or $15 for single ticket. Ladies don’t forget to ask
that special someone?
4. Attention All Students: Shamrock Pins are on sale for St. Patrick’s Day! They are guaranteed to bring you good luck and to help you avoid
getting pinched. Pins are on sale now until March 17th and can be purchased from your favorite AVID junior. *All proceeds will be used to help
the AVID junior class go on their annual college tour and visit schools such as Fresno State, UC Merced, UC Berkeley, Stanford And Cal Poly
SLO.
5. The 11th Annual Art Show is coming April 14th. If you would like to have artwork in the show, please come by Rm. 34 for details. Deadline for
entries is March 27th
6. Any student interested in trying out for the 2009-2010 FHS Pep Squad can pick up an application in the Student Store. Practice starts March
23rd at 3:15 in front of the high school. Any questions, see Ms. Tafoya in Rm. 3.
7. Volunteers wanted: San Cayetano is looking for High School Student volunteers to help with our Family Science Night on March 24th. We
need help starting at 5:30PM and ending at 8:00PM. There will be several activities you can help with, and this can be used as community
service hours. Please call Mary or Martha at San Cayetano to sign up, 524-6040. We are also pre-selling tickets for the Space Shuttle Café that
will be selling dinners that night.
8. One Step Board Meeting - Wed after school at the OSC at 3:30. If you are a part of the board or would like to be for next year please come by.
9. One Step Center classes: The Nutritious Cooking class has been postponed unttill Wed in order not to conflict with the Teen Health class which
starts today at 3:30. Be sure to remember your permissions slips if you would like to participate. Today is the first day of the Meditation Class. It
is open to all levels of practice from 5-6pm for 10 weeks on Tuesdays.
Students and Teachers:
1. All 10th grade and Juniors who have not passed the one or both sections of the CAHSEE will be testing. On Tuesday March 17TH and
Wednesday, March 18TH. Testing rooms with student names will be posted on the Attendance Office windows next Monday afternoon.
