PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: May 1643 - The colonies of Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth, Connecticut, and New Harbor met to form the New
England Confederation.
Congratulations to photography student, JACOB ZELLMER on his 3rd place win in the “2009 Phoenix Art & Literature Contest”.

ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS VOLLEYBALL - HOME 2nd CIF Playoff Round against Sage Hill TODAY at 7PM. COME SUPPORT YOUR FLASHES!
2. GIRLS SOFTBALL - AWAY @ Atascadero. Game time is 3:15PM. Team is excused from class at 9:15AM and will depart FHS at
9:30AM.
3. Football Players – all JV & Varsity players MANDATORY practice Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30. Meet on the field.
4. All Athletes interested in participating in the 2009-2010 Cross Country season must attend a mandatory lunch meeting at 12:30 in Ms. Tafoya's
classroom, room 20. Please be on time.
5. Congratulations to Sierra Mangus for qualifying for CIF Finals. Sierra will Pole Vault this Saturday at Cerritos College. Good Luck
Sierra.
6. ATHLETES / PEP SQUAD: PHYSICALS - Dr. Bautista will be offering FREE PHYSICALS for Athletes and Pep Squad Members -
WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH beginning at 3:30PM.

2. Go Green Club – MANDATORY meeting for the field trip on Wednesday in Rm. 23.
SENIORS:
1. YOU CANNOT LEAVE AT LUNCH WITHOUT AN ID CARD!
2. Deadlines for paper work is approaching Disneyland is due Friday, May 22nd (yellow). Mr. Wilber’s letter is due by May 29th (blue). If you plan
to attend the service at St. Francis Church, turn those slips in by Friday, May 22nd.
3. Mother – Daughter banquet will be on Thurs. May 21st 6pm at the Memorial Bldg. RSVP to Rm. 65 or Janice by this Friday.

Sophomores:
1. All sophomores signed up for AP U.S. History next year – please attend a MANDATORY meeting on
Wednesday, right after school in Rm. 62. Thank you.
STUDENTS:
1. Night School (with Mrs. Ashim and Ms. Schieferle) will end Thursday, May 21st. No work will be
accepted after that date.
2. Art Club is selling autograph books for $5. See any art club member or come to room 34 to buy one.
3. Former Piru Students – Piru School needs volunteers for the 2009 Piru Dance Festival, Friday, May
29th. Volunteers are needed from 4 – 6 p.m. to set up, then from 7-9 p.m. to clean up. The Friends
of Piru Support Group is offering community service credit. For further information contact Mr. Pavik
at 521-1709. See you there.
4. ROP’s Computer Business students: Please inform your internship supervisor that you will not be
at your worksite Wednesday because of the assembly. You will report class.
Students and Faculty:
1. ASSEMBLY - Wednesday, May 20th. ½ of the school will attend from 8:55- 10:05 and the other ½ will attend from 10:20 – 11:30. See
