PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: September 23, 1777 - John Paul Jones declared "I have not yet begun to fight!" aboard the American warship Bonhomme Richard in the battle against the British man-of-war Serapis.
ATHLETICS:
1. VOLLEYBALL – AWAY @ Rio Mesa. Frosh/Soph Game begins at 4PM, JV Game begins at 5PM, and Varsity Game begins at 6PM. Volleyball Team is excused from class at 2PM, Bus will depart FHS at 2:15PM.
CLUBS:
1. ART CLUB – meeting Tuesday at lunch in Rm. 34. New members welcome!
2. Cycling Club: Meeting today rm 46 -Bring your lunch.
3. Fashion Club – meeting at lunch on Wednesday in Rm. 34.
4. PRAYER CLUB meets tomorrow at lunch in Rm. 2. All are welcome.

Juniors and Sophomores:
1. The PSAT Tickets are now for sale in the Student Store. They cost $13.00. The test will be on Saturday, October 18th at 8:30 in Room 49.
STUDENTS:
1. September 21st was the International Day of Peace. Art students have created pinwheels as part of a worldwide art installation. They will be on the fence by the library patio, near the 9/11 memorial tree.
2. September 26th is the registration deadline for the November 1st SAT reasoning and subject tests. You can register on-line at www.collegeboard.com. See your counselor for more information.
3. Class t-shirts are on sale in the Student Store. The shirt designs are in there if you would like to see them. All shirts are $12.
4. CELL PHONE INFO: IF YOUR CELL PHONE IS TAKEN AWAY, YOUR PARENT MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR ADMINISTRATOR TO PICK IT UP AFTER 4:00 PM. YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PICK IT UP THE SAME DAY IT WAS TAKEN AWAY, MRS. GREEN & MR. TORRES ARE VERY BUSY, SO DON'T HAVE YOUR PHONE OUT!!!!

Homecoming Info:
o Homecoming Dress Up Days: Tuesday – “Twister” Day (wear polka dots); Wednesday – “Checkers” Day (wear plaid or checkered clothes); Thursday – “Scrabble” Day (wear shirts with words). Friday – “Flashes Pride” (wear blue and white).
o Food Day at lunch on Friday, Sept. 26th.
o Homecoming Dance - Saturday, Sept. 27th from 7 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. This year it will be semi-formal, so get dress up! Tickets will be $3.00 with an ASB sticker or $5.00 without. Tickets on sale at lunch.
