PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: August 19, 1812 - The U.S. frigate Constitution, Old Ironsides, defeated the British ship Guerriere during the War of
1812.

1. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – Mandatory meeting TODAY at 3:30 in the gym.
CLUBS:
1. Mentor Program: Want to learn more about being a Big/Mentor to an elementary student? You can earn community hours or class credit.
Orientation meeting Friday @ lunch in Rm. 49. Bring your lunch.
STUDENTS:
1. SCHEDULE CHANGING PROCEDURE – Please DO NOT come INTO the office to change your schedule. Report to the ATTENDANCE
OFFICE WINDOW to sign up to see your counselor and wait to be called in. Please know that classes are VERY FULL, and you may not be
able to change.
2. Electronic equipment (cell phones, CD players, IPods, etc.) must be stored and turned off during class time and at school-time activities and
field trips or at any other time as directed by a district employee. If used at an after-school activity or field trip, the equipment must be used with
courtesy and not disrupt the activity. Equipment may be turned on and used during non-instructional time
such as before and after school or during nutrition and lunch breaks. They may not be turned
on or used during passing periods, which state law considers as instructional time. If disruption
occurs, an employee may direct the student to turn off the equipment and/or confiscate it until the end of the class period, school day or activity
or until a parent/guardian picks it up. Students are expected to use equipment in compliance with the Acceptable Use Agreement regarding use
of technology, which students and their parents have signed. Disruptive, discourteous, inappropriate or illegal use of the equipment could result
in disciplinary action including, but not limited to confiscation of the equipment, temporary or permanent loss of the privilege to have the
equipment at school or school activities, suspension, expulsion, or criminal charges. Students and parents are reminded that the school district
cannot assume responsibility for damage to or loss of a student’s electronic equipment. Thank you. ……...John Wilber, Principal…..
3. CAFETERIA NEWS:
No Shirt
No Shoes
No ID Card,
No Service!
This school year any student that is served a cafeteria meal will need to bring their student ID card with them. If you do
not bring your ID card you will have to wait until all the other students have been served and then you will go through a
special serving line.
The new Snack Shop will be opening by September! Stop by and check it out!
4. CONCERT BAND STUDENTS – Report to Rm. 19 at 3:30 for your 7th period band class.
5. Travel and adventure are just around the corner! Ms Hoffman is looking into organizing a trip to Paris in late May. You don’t need to speak
French to go and the opportunity is open to all FHS students. If you are interested in learning more about the trip, come to the meeting next
Thursday at lunch in room 60 (upstairs). It does cost money, and there are no scholarships. Details and handouts for you to bring home will be
provided.
6. A big THANK YOU from Ms. Hoffman and Mrs. Ramirez to the ASB students who helped pass out books during registration. If you volunteered
for us and did not receive your $5 “fine forgiveness coupon” from Ms. Hoffman, please come to the library and see her about it.
TEACHERS:
1. SCHEDULE ISSUES – If a student’s schedule shows your class, BUT you do not have them on your ROSTER, please send them to the office
immediately. Mrs. Ashim and Mrs. Sandford will see those students right away. Ask the student to tell the ATTENDANCE OFFICE personnel
that they are not on the roster.
2. If you are interested in teaching Saturday School - CAHSEE Math and English, please let Mrs. Green know ASAP.
