PATRIOTIC OBSERVANCE: January 5, 1914 - Henry Ford introduced the $5-a-day minimum wage.
LUNCH: Stuffed baked potato, juice, yogurt, milk.
From the Counselors:
1. If you need to see your counselor, sign up at the Attendance Office Window and WAIT
until they send you a call slip.
2. SENIORS – if you have a college transcript, you MUST bring it in this week.
3. If you want to take an after school class in Video Production or ROP Auto, please see
your counselor. Please indicate that on the Counselor Sign Up Sheet.
ATHLETICS:
1. BOYS BASKETBALL - HOME w/LA BAPTIST. Frosh/Soph Game begins at 4PM, JV at 5:30PM, Varsity at 7PM.
2. BOYS SOCCER - HOME w/OAK PARK. JV Game begins at 4:30PM, Varsity at 6PM.
3. JV GIRLS SOCCER - AWAY @ VALENCIA. Game begins at 3:15PM. JV GIRLS ONLY are excused from class at
12:45PM to depart FHS at 1:00PM.
4. SOFTBALL - Try-outs begin TODAY from 3:30-4:30PM. Reminder…..Your “Physical Packet” must be turned-in and
“Approved” by the Athletic Department in order for you to participate.
CLUBS:
1. MENTOR PROGRAM: San Cayetano mentoring today after school. Meet in Rm 17.
2. MENTOR PROGRAM: All FHS students are invited to attend a lecture by guest speaker Andres Orozco. He teaches screen
writing, at Oxnard College & will lecture on: How to Write a Speech and present it. Mon. Jan. 17th (Dr. MLK day) in Rm 17
(mentor Rm) time TBA.
3. Anime Club meeting on Thursday at lunch in the Art Room (34). New members are welcome

1. WINTER FORMAL January 15th at the Memorial Building from 8 - midnight! Tickets on sale at break, lunch and after school in
the Student Store. Ticket prices - $30/Single & $55/Couple. Ticket prices will go up on Monday, January 10th to $35/Single &
$60/Couple. The theme is Do You Believe in Magic?
2. Lions Club Speaker contest – February 7, 2011. This year’s topic is Enforcing Our Borders: State vs. Federal Rights. Fillmore
winner gets $75 with a chance to win over $21,000. To enter see Mr. Overton in the drama room or call Bill Edmonds at 524-
4839.
3. MIGRANT P.A.S.S. CLASS STARTS THIS SATURDAY, JAN. 8th AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL 9A-12P. BE ON TIME!
4. EXTRA CREDIT/MAKE-UP RUNS – Every Wednesday. Report to the track by 3:25.
TEACHERS:
1. In order to save paper, if you have a student this semester with an IEP that you do not have the 2nd semester, please return the
IEP to the case manager instead of throwing it away. The case manager will pass it on to the new teacher.
